We should get someone that has contacts with Asus to setup everyone on this board that will pony up the cash for one right now. We could put in a bulk wholesale order with Asus and get them mailed out. That would be pretty cool. Any takers?! 😀

So this board is going to be between $250 and $300? Ouch, I remeber motherboards being $150 for a good one. Think this price is worth it?

If I hadn't decided to build myself an Intel box for the first time in 8 years I would have used the nForce 590 w/ the AMD 5000+, and in doing research I think that it's worth waiting for the 590, and worth paying for it as well. Which is why we're all waiting, and will probably shell out as much money for it as they want.

Shipped to the retail stores and webpages, but not for sale yet since ASUS might be planning a sale date with enough quantities.

I believe this motherboard will sold out the first 2 days. At least we will have a chance to get one since most of the people who bought conroe got the 965 or 975 chipsets

I agree... I'm checking newegg a couple times a day and I'll be buying it as soon as I see it. Best to strike whilest the iron is hot. (UNlike your processor I hope)

Im 99.9% is gonna be faster and better performer than nForce 4 motherboards (any of them) and that is going to be a competitive of the 975x (because of crossfire)

But since it is gonna be released later, of course it might have advantages

Anyone a decent social engineer, maybe a wee bit of trickery with some Asus reps or Newegg reps for some coveted information? Heh heh

I remember waiting for Halo 2, and about a month early, a friend and I made a bet with eachother about a feature we thought/didn't think the game would have. I remember calling up M$, telling them that I was so-and-so from a reviewing agency/reputable organization and we just finished a pre-release review, unfortunately some information was missing, and we needed to know [fill in blanks] - And yes, it was that easy.

And by the way, I won the bet.

THAT DAMNED COVETED RELEASE DATE!

Good work on seeing it for release in the UK, the price was somewheres around $285USD if I recall. I suppose I'd set that out, and not complain, but that's a little up there. Well actually, I'd set that out right aways. I usually don't watch motherboard prices as they fluctuate, what's the general trend? Out high, then down in the first week like CPUs? Or out stable, down a few bucks in the next six months?

May sound like a stupid question, but the P5N32-SLI Premium says:

Dual channel memory architecture
4 x DIMM, max. 8GB, DDR2-800/667/533, non-ECC, un-buffered memory

Does this mean I will only be able to fit DDR2 memory in it?

If not, will I be able to use my Kingston DDR PC3200?

To be quite honest I do not know. No doubt you would get better performance out of the DDR2, I would imagine you would be able to use DDR, but I can't say. If no replies here soon, maybe try PCmech.com?

DDR2 is a strict requirement for this board. For starters, DDR2 has 240 pins and DDR400 has 184 pins. Beyond that, the entire architecture of the nForce 590 chipset is based purely on the DDR2 standard. DDR400 is long gone, sorry.

On another note, I've heard absolutely nothing regarding the P5N32-SLI Premium. Our primary Asus-direct distributor hasn't a trace or hint of anything related to the board. I intend to contact Asus to reconfirm the information I was given earlier. I suspect availability will be soon, but how soon?

Fudge, I feel smart. I knew that, about the 184 vs 240 pins. This board search has got my mind gone.

.:Edit:.

-gotten my mind gone.-

Anandtech saying "We are over a week away from the official launch of the NVIDIA nForce 590SLI Intel Edition and will have to wait at least a month before seeing the ATI RD600 based motherboards."

I just had a dream that it was out and I was at some kinda release party with lots of happy people. It was very vivid and when I woke up I was like "wait, wtf. oh. WEAK."

Another week :x

I think I am losing my mind. I need to go hard boil some eggs.

Wow, you guys really scare me at times 8O

Hahaha that was nice

Well Im looking at the 570 review of anandtech right now, let see how it performs and wait at least a 20% better perfomance on the 590 😉

Here's the link to that review at Anandtech:

Ugh, 320 FSB. This review scares me. Lets hope the 590 really IS designed as an enthusiast board, BIOS and all.

In answer to slim142

It looks like he (myself) made a mistake. The 570 is a great board. yeah great for gaming, but the memory is in what is not doing so well. So lets do this, Lets wait for the 590 and check some reviews.

I hope we get better results in memory perfomance on the 590.

Ah, home from work. Atleast another week is another 40 hours. 😛

Yeah, I think I am losing it, I actually had a dream about a motherboard, wtf. The hard-boiled eggs were good, btw.

I need to go have a shower and start the evening's search for motherboard informations, reviews, and begin peicing together a nice pile of electronic legos that will have an nForce 590 chipset with a Core 2 Duo processor.

The wait will be fruitful, my friends. 8)

Dude, I live in Hawaii, there are no squirrels. But I like the idea, any other suggestions? Housecats with a aerosol can of ether and a lighter maybe? After taking them down with a pellet gun?
