hello everyone . I was looking for a good solid power supply and it seems this two are very good, but ive read that the ocz 700w its too noisy ( i dont care if it is a bit noisy but they said is way waaay too loud) i mean i dont expect my pc to be quiet , i can deal with some noise

and the other one seems good too but i just like ocz more and the antec has 650 and the ocz700w

oohh and here are the spec.
q6600 oc to 3.6
4870 1 gb ...maybe crossfire in the future if needed
4 gb 1066
western digital 640gb
antec 1200
24" monitor

so the big question for me is that

is the ocz 700w that loud as they said??? ...like i said i dont mind some noise but if they say that is way way tooo loud i might get the antec 650

Well I have the antec neopower blue 650 running an overclocked dual core, two hard drives, two dvd drives, 7 case fans and two 4850s in crossfire with no problem.

It is a great PSU but I don't think it would be able to run the 4870s in crossfire.

I have an OCZ 700 and it has been a great power supply for me. It is dead quiet. I don't know why someone would say it is loud.

However I did buy mine in March of 2006 so OCZ may have made some design revisions since then that may make the current ones on the market loud.

If you want to be 100% safe I would go with Antec. Their products are very impressive.

so saying loud doesnt matter ..will the antec 650 provide more power than the ocz700w using a 4870 1gb crossfire system ??

A OCZ 700Watt would not be suitable for two 4870's in X-Fire because it only has 2 PCI-Express 6 Pin connectors. A single 4870 requires 2 x 6 pin connectors by itself.

A OCZ 700 Watt would be suitable for two 4850's in xfire but not 4870's.

You can always use adaptors though.

Go to ATI's website to look at a list of approved X-fire PSUs for the 4870s cards.

i check out some psu that ati recommend and im going for the corsair tx650

what do u thing about this one?

The Corsair TX series are very good. Atm on newegg the 750 has a great deal http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139006

Personally i find it superior to the one Dagger posted but both are very good.

U cant compare the Corsair or PC P&C to the Neopower Blue or the GameXtreme at all. They first 2 are much superior.
U can even get this over the Blue. Its the same basically but has better internals http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371015

PCP&C is "the one" in psu. Nothing can be superior to it. 😗

buy PCP&C or Corsiar so many people are cheap with powersupplies by buying OCZ/Antec and then wonder why it goes in a couple of years or sooner, the PSU is extremely important, if it quits it can take out alot of parts in ur system, buy QUALITY!!!!

ok thanks for your help
bewteen this two
corsair tx750 or the PC Power & Cooling S75QB 750W ?
the PCP&C is $5 more than the corsair
also ati recomends the corsair tx750 in their list for 4870 CF and the PCP&C 750 is not in the list , i dont know if thats a problem

i prefer corsair 750 but if the PCP&C is way better then i might go for it

How could u ppl
stop basing ur opinions off the PC P&C being the best. Its not....
Compared to new makers they are good and reliable but they do not have the performance gap like they use to
The Corsair is a more then comparable unit, and imo is cooler and much quieter due to that bigger fan

As for OCZ (new owners of PC P&C) have obviously have learned nothing. The redid their line and i thought theyd be better but no....i wouldnt even consider an OCZ psu anymore

thanks for your opinion and and i been thinking ill go for cosair since i like it more and ati recomends corsair 750tx for 4870CF
