I am getting a new power supply and was curious which one of these was better. I noticed the OCZ has 4 12V rails while the Corsair has just 1 12V rail. Here are my specs, but I am thinking about adding another 3870 in crossfire soon... Specs: ASUS M2R32-MVP, Athlon X2 5200+, 2x1gb Crucial Ballistix DDR2800, HD3870, 2 SATA HD's, 2 DVD drives, and 6 case fans.

OCZ: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341002
Corsair: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139005

OCZ builds a good PSU, if fact they bought PC power & cooling a while back, but i've never seen a bad review/test of a Corsair PSU and they're building quite a reputation for quality AND keeping their prices very reasonable. I'm happy with mine. Go Corsair.

Corsair, OCZ, PCPower, they are all Seasonic, for the most part.
Just go for the most bang for buck, wattage per dollar.
I read where the OCZ is only one rail split, not like some of the other PSU's, so they don't really have the load balancing problem associated with other PSU's.

I am more than happy with my Corsair HX620.

As Lucuis posted, one 12V rail is easier to manage than multiple.

I have a corsair 750W single rail, It came in a really nice box and bag, and the actual PSU looks really nice, I just havent been able to give it a spin yet as I need to get several more parts for my computer :p

Lets clear this up..

Corsairs current line is made by Seasonic(as is most of Antec's)

the GameXtreme is NOT PC Power & Cooling its FSP(Fortron)

They are both good units with plenty of power to run the system in question.

I am willing to bet the Corsair is quieter.

I got 2 Corsair's HX620 and I love em. But I would like to say that not all corsair's are made by Seasonic only they HX620 & HX520.

The Corsair power supplies are manufactured by Seasonic and Channel Well Technology, CWT. Both manufacturers are top of the line and do not matter as Corsair specifies top-notch parts and designs.

Here is a review from H Enthusiast comparing the Seasonic made HX520 to the CWT made HV550. I own an HV550.

JohnnyGURU is a well respected power supply reviewer and he has probably reviewed all the Corsiar power supplies.

IMO the best power supply reviewer on the net is Gabriel Torres. He goes into the most detail and gives the best explanations. He has reviewed a few of the Corsairs.

If you want a PSU that performs really well and where the fans do not make a horrendus noise Corsair is a great brand.

Also the Corsair PSU has so many cables with it, I have 2 DVD drives, 3 HDD's, 2 GFX cards and a FDD installed and still have a bag full of cables I got with it. :p

FYI, the HX520 and HX620 and the VX450 and TX650 are built to our spex by Seasonic.

The VX550, the TX750, and HX1000 are built to our spex by CWT.

Yea Corsair rocks.. but I have one and having kind of buzz noise issue with the fan every time his temp goes a bit high then I can hear the vibration... and if you are just playing Skyrim with a single HD7970 it happens every 4 minutes. I am talking about a HX850 Gold Plus, then you have to check if you might have to pay international fee to use Corsair RMA .... just google noise problems with corsair around

Not true - many Corsairs are CWT, some are Chicony, some Seasonic,
no OCZ's that I know of are Seasonic, & less than half of PC P & C's are Seasonic.

Not entirely true - Corsairs current line is made primarily by CWT & Chicony,
AX series is still Seasonic. Most of Antec's current line is Delta, FSP, some
Seasonic and a couple CWT.
