I moved my pc earlier to clean my desk, now when booting it makes a longer beep then 3 short beeps then turns on as usual, there is also sometimes a delay before my monitor turns on, does anyone know what could be causing this, thanks
Hi thanks for ur reply, my mobo is the ROG STRIX Z390F and my ram is 16GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3000MHz (2 x 8GB)Hi!
@matty.kemp They are called beepcodes.
they indicate a failure of something inside the pc.
Please specify your Motherboard Model and make, ram, etc..
or you can also check this article (but they are not exactly same for all motherboards so please reply with your motherboard model, ill try to help)
Thankyou so much!! Yes i believe that explains my problemHi!
i fount the solution for you problem, on the Official Rog website
The title is 1 long beep followed by 3 beeps. This is the problem you have right???
So it stated: That if those beep codes are there which means there is no VGA output to display the POST (power on self test) screen.
as you stated there is a delay when you monitor turn on, so if there is a delay then the PC Doesn't detect the Display, as for what is causing that problem.
it is not much to be considered about because the PC works after that right?
it is nothing to be afraid of, it is just indicating the display is not detected
(which is caused by the time delay the monitor takes to turn on )
I hope i answered your problem
Good luck!
