Hello!
I have a test for you guys. Well, this is mostly knowledge for me because I'm thinking of building my PC soon.
So, I want your guidance on which components or build would be good for my needs. I'm trying to build a PC under $2000.
It's been a while for me since I built a PC, so things have changed now and there are a lot more components.

What I'm looking for to do with the computer?
Gaming
Video Editing
3D Software
Graphics Design (Adobe programs)
Multitasking

Any components I prefer?
Intel i9 (i7 if superior to i9)
GeForce RTX 3080
RAM: 32 GB
No SSD (already have one), monitor, keyboard, and mouse

If it was me I would wait, only because we are close to new releases. Have a look at articles discussing 13th gen Intel. AMD 7000 series CPU’s and NVIDIA 4000 series to get an idea of what is expected and when.
Thanks for the info, but I was thinking the 4000 series might just go over 1k, so it will be half of the budget and no room for the other components.

Take a look at last generation where the 3070 equalled/beat the much more expensive 2080Ti. It’s reasonable to expect the price for X performance to decrease. The MSRP of the 3080 at launch was $699, will the 4080 really increase by >40% to 1k? I’d also expect the 4070 will be faster and cheaper than a 3080. It would make no sense if next generation gpu’s gave less performance for X budget.

AMD announces their new line on the 29th of August and Intel will launch their top end CPU's in October. i9 is superior to the i7 but costs more and is more difficult to cool, an i9 will be a stretch for under 2K budget, I would stick with an i7 personally. It's more than good enough for everything you describe.

If it were me I would do something like this:

PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8L6kqm

CPU: Intel Core i7-12700K 3.6 GHz 12-Core Processor ($377.99 @ Best Buy)
CPU Cooler: ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 360 56.3 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($144.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: MSI MAG Z690 TOMAHAWK WIFI ATX LGA1700 Motherboard ($274.99 @ Amazon)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-5600 CL36 Memory ($169.99 @ Amazon)
Video Card: Asus GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR 12 GB TUF GAMING OC Video Card ($809.95 @ Amazon)
Case: Lian Li O11 Dynamic EVO ATX Mid Tower Case ($189.00 @ B&H)
Power Supply: Corsair RMx (2021) 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply ($134.99 @ Amazon)
Total: $2101.90

It could be brought within budget with some tweaks, though DDR5 and the Tomahawk board are nice to haves. Is it just the SSD your carrying over or do you already have a case?

That is true, but after doing some research for the 4000 series, the power consumption is insane. So, I think I'd like to stay in the 3000 series for a while.

Just an opinion.
Cpu....12700
Gpu....3080
Ram....ddr4

I don't think you will be far wrong.

I do not have a case for a new build. I do have one for my current PC, but it's a few years old and doesn't have enough space or ventilation.
Also, I found an i9 cheaper than the i7 you provided. Core i9-10850K 10 Cores 3.6 GHz ($339 @ Best Buy).
As for the motherboard, maybe a cheaper option to reduce the cost. MSI MPG Z490 GAMING EDGE (not sure if it's that good).
