Hi,
I have an issue which started the other day - I fell asleep with my TV plugged into my GPU via HDMI (often fall asleep to films not on Netflix this way), and woke up to the "Gigabyte Insist on Ultra Durable" screen you normally see during boot. My guess is it would have been on that screen for a while before I woke up. I held down the power button to restart and potentially choose my boot preference manually. Unfortunately, pressing the power button did nothing. Not a single light, fan spin or sound.
Things I have tested:
PSU - this powers up on the paperclip test, and powers up fans too but no power once I plug the 24-pin back into my mobo and attempt to power up.
CMOS has been reset, battery removed, left out for 30mins, plugged back in, no change.
I've tried the power switch short by removing the front panel connectors and connecting power switch pins with a screwdriver. Have also tried swapping power and reset connectors to see if reset button worked instead, no luck.
I've tried booting with no GPU (CPU has integrated graphics) or a single RAM stick, in different slots, still no luck.
The USB slots still work for things like charging a phone, USB lights, even while the PC is powered off but plugged in. Both the front panel USB for the case and the USB ports on the mobo work.
My specs:
Gigabyte B560 HD3
Corsair Vengeance RGB 2x16gb 3200mhz
3070ti FE
Corsair H115i PRO XT
10700K
I have heard it could be an issue with the "power controller"(?) by the CPU socket, hence why USB ports have power still, but system doesn't power up. I have opted for RMA but Gigabyte aren't the fastest at organising, so any help to fix at home would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance for any advice.
