[SOLVED] PC shuts down while under load.

PC shuts down randomly, while I'm trying to play Insurgency: Sandstorm. Other games are seemingly fine (tested CITIES:Skylines, CIV6, Crysis 2, Kenshi, etc.) It happens either on start, or when game transitioning to post-match\lobby screen. Instead of "Blue screen of Death" - PC just shuts off, as if plug is pulled. Checked physical connections, inside of the case and outside - all good. Cleaned fans\coolers\CPU heatsink.

Temps prior to shut down are:
Motherboard [°C] - 33;
CPU [°C] - 38;
Auxiliary [°C] - 38;
CPU (PECI) [°C] - 48;
GPU Temperature [°C] - 49;
CPU GT Cores (Graphics) [°C] - 35;

Loads are:
Physical Memory Load [%] - 58.7;
Max CPU/Thread Usage [%] - 95.2;
GPU Core Load [%] - 17

Power:
CPU Package Power [W] - 38.929;
Total DRAM Power [W] - 3.459;
IA Cores Power [W] - 30.761;

RAM: 2 x Corsair XMS3 CMX16GX3M2A1333C9 8 GB DDR3-1333 DDR3 SDRAM (9-9-9-24 @ 666 MHz) (7-7-7-20 @ 533 MHz) (6-6-6-17 @ 457 MHz)
MB: ASRock H97 Pro4 (2 PCI, 3 PCI-E x1, 1 PCI-E x16, 4 DDR3 DIMM, Audio, Video, Gigabit LAN)
BIOS: AMI 4.6 (03/07/2018)

GPU: GeForce GTX 1070 (8 GB)
PCI-e x4 Intel Wifi board.

No idea why, or how to fix it - any thought?

Remove the gtx1070, use onboard igpu try out the CIV6 ( you may set the game in lower setting) to see you still get the same, the PC shuts down randomly.

If your PC runs fine with onboard iGPU, that means either the GPU, GPU driver, or PSU has problem. But try to uninstall the driver first, use the DDU to uninstall the GPU driver then reinstall it, if you don't do it before. If you already did it, test the GPU or PSU.

If you will get the same, test the RAM with MemTest86 https://www.memtest86.com/download.htm

Or use only one stick to test the PC, or update the BIOS, but keep in mind, to update the BIOS, which may or may not brick your MB, if you don't do it right.

Done - played all games indicated above - not problems playing them on APU\iGPU.

Did that - same problem, once GTX1070 re-installed. Happens only with Insurgency:Sandstorm, once game goes to match results screen.

Tested RAM with other tool - no problem.


So, it's either GPU or PSU.... Is 750W not enough?

I also got 3 HDDs (3.5x2 & 2.5x1) and 2 SSDs. Also got 3 additional HDDs via USB3 tower (powered separately).


Also - I'll try to re-install Win10 as well, since during driver install OS crushed.

P.S.: Looking at the chart generated by HWinfo64 - seems like it's PSU problem, since temps and loads on GPU are not high: max temp is 57cel, and load ~60%.
