I am looking for the one that would suit my needs. I will be Programming a Lot, and gaming quite a bit aswell. Which one is better for me? (Overclocked or Normal)
i originally had a build plan all layed out for the 955 cpu but just read some i5 reviews and benchmarks and it smokes 955 many areas. in my opinion the i5 has crippled any cometition from AMD in performance and price.
go i5. it will cost you the same as just about any 955 configuration and its a better cpu/build.
The i7 860 is almost a must for a budget of roughly 1500, get it and 2 4890s and enjoy the awesomeness, or wait until the ATI 5000 series comes out and enjoy the even more awesome awesomeness!
Yea I agree....even though there is speculation that AMD will slash the current price on their quads, whatever you save on a 955 build will not compensate for the performance you lose by not chosing the 750...Basically there is no reason to go AMD at this point in time, specially when an i5 build is cheaper than a 955 build ATM...
The V10 is a horrible idea, it doesn't perform any better than the normal high end coolers but it is bulky, hard to install, and it can bend your motherboard.
As far as I know the mounting hardware is the same both for 775 and 1156... Anyone know if this is 100% accurate? If a 775 cooler is compatible with a 1156 socket using the exact same hardware then it looks like there is no difference at all... unless I missed something here....
Well if you look at the pictures on Newegg you will see that the Coolermaster comes only with the push pins and the AM3 mounting hardware... That normally means it will work with both sockets w/o needing anymore hardware.....
So why is there only 2 coolers to choose from? I would asume that the Egg would have at least 10 coolers to choose from, unless there is another site that has more of a variety you are basically screwed waiting till they are in stock...
