just read this in g.skills forums about this memory and board.
well i guess it is time to pull dimm 2 out since dimm 1 is under my cpu cooler.
after i place dimm 2 in slot 3 i will see what happens.
If you have an AM3 or AM2+ CPU, you can only have 2 DIMMS [or memory slots] running at 1066, per channel, which means you have to have only 2 sticks in slots 1&2, or 3&4, or 1&4.
If these are you memory slots
[Which I think who it works]
- Dual Channel
Slots ---------------1 2 3 4
"Channel" Config-[1][2] [1][2]
Means it will not support 4 sticks @ 1066.
No 8GB @ 1066
Only 4, and only in certain slots.
Makes it quite a headache.
Should have looked at the Motherboard specs more before buying, but oh well, my bad.
8GB @ 800mhz is ok for me right now, no big loss.
I'll buy a AM3 DDR3 Motherboard and some G.Skill DDR3 1333Mhz RAM
