Was playing Mordhau earlier today at high settings when suddenly my screen froze before my frames dropping to around 15 from 60. All my fans kicked up to max speed and my GPU began to make this buzzing sound as if there was something caught in the fan. The fan speed was sustained for about 5 minutes after exiting out of the game, closing all programs and just leaving my PC to idle. After this initial 5 minutes my fans returned to their normal speeds but the buzzing sound coming from my GPU remains. I have inspected the fan on my GPU and there isn't anything visible that it could be catching on to make this sound. Moreover, the sound is coming more from towards the center rather than the fan located towards the right. I later launched another game (Dark Souls 3) to see if anything had improved after leaving my PC off for a while. The game was alternating between 60fps for a few seconds and 12fps for a few seconds. Corsair Link reports that my GPU is idling at 65-70°c which shouldn't be correct. I would like to be able to run games with consistent FPS as I was able to before all this began. I'm not particularly bothered about solving the buzzing sound issue if i'm still able to use this card.
Any help greatly appreciated so thanks in advance :)
