My Fluke is class IV, designed for line voltages/amperage of 1000v and 600A, doubtful a psu could fry it, although I did push it a while back on a 600A 3phase panel. Heh, derailed is an understatement.

Well technically, its also a listing of over-glorified transformers, the actual power supply being your household electrical panel, or beyond that, for me anyways, the Tennessee River Valley Authority hydro electric plant, but gotta draw the line somewhere, and this list does just that. Great-good-mediocre-junk-pipe bomb.

Would like a recheck on the NZXT Hale90 V2s. The list has it made by ATNG, but it is in fact FSP. There are 3 models (850, 1000, 1200), and 3 major reviews on 2 of the models (1x850, 2x1000).

The 850 received a silver rating from HardwareSecrets, even passing tests at 50C at 960W, and keeping with its Gold Certification, as well as being overloaded up to 1000W.
The 1000W passed HardOCP's test, keeping Gold Certification at 80Plus and hotbox testing.
The 1000W received a 9.1 from overclockers, plus a recommendation.

According to all 3, all the capacitors are Japanese, and they’re all Nippon Chemi-con.

Fixed.

IF you could change the color to "TIER 1 , TIER 2 etc." that would be the best ;d

DT, I might just put a separator like was discussed before between the Tiers. They DO somewhat run together if you're not paying close attention. d1versify, it would be troublesome to make the text for each tier a different color as some people have issues differentiating on screen colors and a lot of colors are simply extremely difficult to read at the size of the standard forum text when there is more than a few words of that color. I've tried in in tutorials and it's even harder to read with most colors.

You could maybe alternate the body text for each section though like this.

Tier 1 stuff goes here

Tier2 stuff goes here

Tier 3 stuff goes here

Just a thought.

wow. really? toss up a line, or a string of asterisks, just to quickly help separate Tier 1 from Tier 2 and so on. not rocket science!

Tier 1

Tier 2

Yep. It was a slightly improved Seasonic M12-II 750.

It's a bit old, but I already own it, just hoping for some info to decide whether to use it again for a system "upgrade" (really just older parts migration)
https://pcpartpicker.com/part/thermaltake-power-supply-tpx575m

It's only a 398W system.

edit:

hi dottorrent. the EVGA 550 GS and 650 GS use the Seasonic G mid range platform same as the Antec Edge and XFX XTR units. I only wanted to chime in because there are people on other forums innocently misrepresenting some of these very good units to be even better than they are and referencing this list as there is no distinguishing between the models within this series and they appear to be lumped into a tier as a whole.

The OEM is naturally important, but the other part was the biggie. Are the units appropriately placed at Tier 3, or is mis-tiered?

It's in line with the FSP Aurum series of PSUs. Virtually identical. Before you say some of Be Quiet's units are FSP, they change nearly everything on the platform and are better built as a whole, especially when they focus on pure silence and quality of the product.

Edit -

Just an update on the list. The EVGA Supernova GS has been moved down a tier, as the platform is based on the Seasonic G series platform. It's in line with Antec's Truepower Classic and EDGE series, XFX's TS Gold and XTR units (XTR possibly being bumped up thanks to the new KM3 update on it) and Fractal Design's Edison units.

As for the Corsair RM 850w, there has been a recent review by JonnyGuru on the 2015 update, using mainly Japanese capacitors and Polymer Apaq Capacitors. The fan controller has also been improved to be a bit more sensetive to temperature now. This unit has been bumped to Tier 2 as a result of the updated platform.

And just a question on those new Andyson units. Tier one or should they stay at Tier 2?

the EVGA 850 GS and 1050 GS should remain in tier 1 as it's a seasonic KM3 based unit. if you mean the Andyson N700, that's a tier 1.
