UPDATE -

XFX XTR series and EVGA Supernova GS in Tier one now. Turns out that after some inspection, the EVGA GS units are using the KM3 platform.

The Be Quiet Straight Power 10 units have been bumped up to Tier 2, since it is a heavily modified and improved version of FSPs Aurum platform i.e. no squealing components.

Can't find stock in the Rosewill Capstone series, and according to NewEgg the "newer versions" are the Photon series.

Only Capstones still in stock are the 550W non-modular, and 1000W Modular.

probably being phased out as they're old. the photon are lower quality units. one of the worst 80+ gold psu in the class/price range.

Attention -

The Legacy Tier list (Or Tier list 1.0) has been phased out. Please use that thread as the discussion list. This list maybe locked form discussion around mid-May - early June. There will be talks with official moderators to see if this list can be locked from discussion, and use the old tier list thread as the official discussion thread.

Thank you all for your support. If it wasn't for your support, the tier list wouldn't get this far.

List update -

New units arrived in the untiered section.

Aerocool
Aerocool getting a couple of new units in by Andyson and HEC Compucase. Let's hope that these units turn out to be good, as Andyson have been on a roll lately, gaining Tier 2 status with their new Platinum-R and Titanium-N series of units.

Antec
Antec has got a new line of units in their long running Neo Eco series, made by Channel Well Technology. Something tells me they're essentially Corsair CXM units in a better looking suit.

Chieftech
A lot of new units are coming in from Chieftech, mainly of Channel Well Technology and High Power / Sirfa design. They're still being tested for their official 80+ ratings, so don't get your hopes up. Plus, The A, A90, B, and C series of units are of 230V design.

After looking inside of an A90 unit by a German team known as PC MAX, it does seem that Chieftech is using fake 80+ Gold Ecova labels and some pretty horrendous quality components. Expect it to be in either Tier 4 or 5. Link is here for review (translated)

Enermax
Another 200V-240V only series in by Enermax, under the name MaxPro. Shame they closed down their OEM plant, so they have to use Channel Well Technology. I thought Enermax made great PSU on their own. Still getting the official 80+ confirmation though.

In Win
There seems to be a few new units from the In Win plant. They seem to be under codenames, so no confirmations on official names yet. They will be changed when they get their names. Maybe around Computex.

Seasonic
There seems to be some 2015 updates to their S12-II and M12-II EVO series of units, as well as a new ECO model for European customers. This could be the MK2 models for their entry level units, so keep your eyes peeled.

They're getting tested for their official 80+ rating, so no rating yet. The warranty has been extended to 5 years for the new S12 and M12-II lines, maybe to keep in line with XFXs warranty, since they use Seasonic's entry platforms for their TS line of units.

Seventeam
They're back. A new line of units under the PAP series. No 80+ confirmation at all, so don't expect amazing savings on your energy bills.

SilentMaxx
I've never heard of them, till now. Apparently they used Super Flower platforms (their past ones), but a new line under the name Eco-Silent Pro also uses them. No 80+ confimation at all, so again, don't expect your energy bills getting cheaper. Super Flower have been on a huge wave of momentum lately, so hopefully they don't screw this unit up.

Silverstone
Silverstone are jumping on the Titanium bandwagon with the Strider Titanium series of units. The Strider series is also going Platinum, mainly being High Power / Sirfa units, but some higher end Strider Platinum units are being made by Enhance. Enhance are on a roll with CM's VS series units, so they might pull this off, along with High Power.

Their Zeus units are also going to Platinum (Quite a leap of faith from no certification). No word of OEM yet, but they're getting tested at the 80+ labs for their rating. Their old Zeus units were fairly decent, so maybe their new units will be just as good, if not better.

Thermaltake
Their notorious TR2 units are getting updates with the new RX Gold, made by none other than Yuelin and TR2 Gold, by High Power / Sirfa (that's better). They just got their Gold rating, but don't expect some greatness from them, at least on the Yuelin side. I would be surprised if they turn out to be decent.

The Germany line (Hamburg / Berlin) are going Bronze and being made by Channel Well Technology. I hope they are as efficient as Germany, or it's a NEIN! from me.

The Tough Power DPS Gold line are getting an OEM switch to Channel Well Technology. Credit where it's due CWT, you fixed the Corsair RM line, at least the 750w and 850w models. High Power did a good job with their current line, so let's hope Channel Well Technology do the same.

A new Tough Power line has risen, known as Tough Power Grand Platinum. I didn't notice 2 reviews on the 850w model by JonnyGuru and the 1200w model by HardOCP. The rest reside in untiered for now, but those 2 units go to Tier 2. Good job enhance.

Vantec
Vantec have been away from the PSU business for some time, but their new Platinum line is coming. Made by Enhance, so should be good. In testing for offiicial efficiency, so stay tuned.

XFX
There seems to be some new Pro units coming, possibly in line with Seasonic's S12-II 2015 update. The 550w just got the Bronze certification, but the 450w is awaiting. Expect excellent performance.

Xigmatek
New Maverick units are inbound. Just like most Xigmatek units, they're made by Andyson. No rating yet, like the Tauro M series, so stay tuned. Let's hope Andyson don't drop the ball on this one.

Zalman
That recent scandal did scare us all from the legendary CPU cooler manufacture, but they're coming back hard with some new PSUs, under the line EBT. High Power made these, so should be decent.

That's all folks. Hopefully some more updates soon.

Silver, bronze, doesn't matter, it an FSP Raider and unless something has changed, they're Tier 4 and should be avoided. As has been said a thousand times before, ignore the 80plus ratings unless an otherwise highly reviewed model shows good to great quality, in which case, THEN it becomes a matter of added value. As a measuring stick, bronze, silver, gold and platinum have NOTHING to do with quality and are ONLY measurements of EFFICIENCY.

A Tier 4 unit can have great efficiency, and still be dead a week later or burn your house down. A Tier 1 or 2 unit could fail to even have an 80plus rating, and still be in use ten years later.

Which why I am asking if they were the same. :)

When you see "series" after the identifier, in this case "FSP Raider" followed by "series", it's assumed that all models in the series are tiered equally. Otherwise, there would be separate designations for FSP Raider Silver and FSP Raider gold. Just as with certain models that show up on different tiers according to their wattage which might designate 550w-650w models made by such and such, while 750-1000w models made by such and such. With different tiers for each group. In this case, AFAIK they would be the same tier.

Im now learning. Thanks for the input.

Yeah, I saw that same review as well. Maybe Tier 2 for the 650W model (and presumably the 550W model since it looks like it's using the same platform as the 650W model, although I'll wait for jonnyguru to come out with a review first) and tier 1 for the 850W and up. Just my two cents.

indeed.

I didn't think so. So pretty much that article was just FULL of useless information that doesn't actually affect, or reflect, on the average consumer PSU whatsoever. That IS sad. And a waste of good article space too.

darkbreeze could you explain to me whats actually the problem with the fsp raider silver series? burn down houses?

I've been using an fps raider 650 silver since january with a gtx 980 and a i7 4790 and honestly i haven't ever seen the voltages going out of atx.. not even close to it.
Several people told me its bad quality etc, but i kept using and testing it, and was unable to notice anything wrong with it.
Even when i overclocked my gpu and the gigabyte one takes up to 300watts tho i only pushed it till 86% power load so around ~260watts 12v rail never dropped under 12.00, by default it's on 12.196 highest was 12.203 and lowest was 12.00 when system was overclocked running games /benchmarks for more than 6-7 hours.
I've been also searching around the web with keywords " fsp raider burn, fsp raider rma, fsp raider fire, fsp raider blew, fsp raider blow, fsp raider destroy" and google robots were unable to find problems. Lots of people are using the fsp series, even some i personally know with cfx r9 280xs and such and when i mean lots i really mean lots, just on hungarian retailer site tons of fsp raider were sold. i can see 400+ customer " review" and guess what no burnt houses, no burnt gpus, no destroyed motherboards...
Also fsp offers 5 year warranty for all the fsp raider silver psus.

So could you explain please? and by explaining i mean proper explanation, i've also seen the jhonnyguru and hardocp reviews that say" don't crossload this psu will blow " like when you buy a car and they tell you "don't hit the wall with 300km/h you wil die"..
And also as i know and as others tell FSP is a quality psu brand. why would they offer a full 5 year warranty if there would be a possibilty their units burn houses, failes, blows, etc?
