The 750W one uses a ton of other caps, too, which I can't identify:

How come only the primary cap concerns you? I thought the secondaries fail quicker, hence why 85C rated secondaries are absolutely unacceptable but 85C rated primaries are somewhat acceptable.

As quoted from here http://www.jonnyguru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9477

"Personally, I find that the secondary caps are the most commonly failed component of PSU (If they're a junk brand like fuhjyyu or capxon, that is)."

Not interested in the Hydro G. Too pricey. I can get any of these form my local microcenter, which are much better priced:

There are others too

I'd be looking at the 650, not 750.

When I'm older, I'm running for president, and my motto will be, "I'll make those PSU companies pay!" My commercials will consist of a Hercules PSU catching a forest out west on fire. "I'm going after them!" Then somehow I'll end up winning, so say hello to your future president!

If that doesn't work, I'll definitely take a PSU company to small claims court. I could easily win.

Well hell, you probably couldn't be any more inept than every single person running currently. At least maybe you'd be smart enough to know that the president doesn't really have anything to do with policy anyhow. The president who is smart enough to surround himself with the smartest people he can find, that are of a similar mind as yourself, is the one who'll come out looking the best.

The cabinet makes policy, the president just signs off on everything, if congress lets him. So even somebody who doesn't know a thing about politics could give a good showing if they can manage public speaking and know how to hire people that will make effective decisions and give good advice. Even you.

Which means you'd have plenty of time left over for tinkering with power supplies in the green room. Still, I'm pretty sure koala bears are not native, and you have to be a natural born citizen to be president, so I doubt you'll be qualified on those grounds.

One of the best presidents the US has had was an actor. Not gonna talk about the peanut farmer. Although if db is correct, it wasn't entirely his fault he was as inept as turkey. So blow up them psu's, there's still hope.

Why is this thread not stickied?

I follow it so I have easy access, but it's not always on the top of this forum, so if I needed it and it didn't have an update I'd have to go searching for it, and Anort's stickied thread just links to this one, so I have to load up an extra page inbetween what I actually want.

I stickied it again, but the problem with stickies, as I understand it, is that when the OP is edited, it un-stickies it. So when Dottorent next edits it, it will un-sticky again, Which is ok, as it's not that often anymore. I'll just redo it if that happens.

At the time we were having problems with any posts in a sticky causing it to unsticky. That's why I just stickied a link. Also I'm not sure he even can edit the thread if it's stickied. Not without mod powers.

There are a few but not like this one where the OP is edited regularly. I don't know maybe try sending him a PM and asking if he can edit it?
