If you don't absolutely need it to be fully modular, then the semi-modular EVGA B2 750 is about the same price and is a great unit with about 200w more capacity. Both have the same 5 year warranty and you really can't go wrong with any of the B2, GS or G2 units.

Thanks and which is the best thermal compound for fx8320 procesoor with stock heatsink and fan mine is kind of hot and shuts down automatically after 20-30 mins of use
If necessary also a cooler for fx8320 under 1200 inr
Thanks

I've always wondered myself, why does the 620 S12II have only 6, 6+2 connectors when it can easily supply two 6+2 pins due to the extremely wide 12V rail? And does this mean running a twin molex t 6+2pin connector with sufficient wire gauge is safe?

Sorry my response was to the EVGA GS question. I didn't refresh my browser before posting like a dumb dumb.

The Antec VP550P is great if you want a psu to last 10 years and don't care about looks or quiet.

Why do you expect it to last 10 years? I would certainly not expect a reasonably loaded one to last 10 years.

Not sure I'd expect a budget level PSU with a 2yr warranty to last 10 yrs, but ya never know.

I don't think it will affect voltage regulation much, other than transient response. And might bring maximum power down; once you go past there you might see the voltage drop off.

So in a way it does, then. If someone launches a video game, that could induce a transient response and could trigger under voltage protection then, correct?

3rd party OEM like HP or Compaq or Dell etc use a variety of different OEM psu's so you could just as easily have a very good Seasonic or Delta unit as a unbranded, generic lump of garbage from Great Wall or Channel Well. The only way to have an idea is through the model/serial number on the psu itself and tracking that down. Even then, its still a 3rd party OEM unit, so won't be built the same as the higher end gaming designed units.

There are better units than the VP550P available in it's price range, depending on where you are. Obviously, these are not units that will be used in the US since they are 220v only, but considering they are noisy, have no MOVs and have only 60% efficiency at idle or low load (40w or less) conditions, probably not the best choice out there. Not the worst either. At least they are unlikely to start any fires.

I don't see any reviews on the v2 version though, so can't comment on that, but most of these are being sold in the Indian and other low infrastructure areas, so it's doubtful that newer versions have made their way there yet.

There seem to be a lot of PSUs I see not using MOVs or TVS diodes these days. Superflower does this crap.

I know but in high end $100 units I'd expect them to put in a MOV. Which I think most do but I specifically recall Superflow not putting any surge suppression in some units that are high end.
