Thanks Nuckles_56 and Karadjgne.
So I should not worry about ripple as the power draw is much lower..
Thanks for your suggestion about 550w but I was looking at least 750w for a future upgrade to 4k GPU.
The other option I have is to go 850w G2(I know it is overkill) which is £105 at amzon warehouse deals.

If I had not read the review, I would have installed the Evga GQ. When you read something negative it creates doubt in your mind specifically when you have no knowledge about it. That is why we ask you guys who are expert on this.
Although I have been advised that ripple won't affect me, I am still thinking to spend an extra £23 and get the 850w G2 because of a possible future upgrade to a 4k gpu.
Thanks for your kind help.

Thanks.
I'll definitely go with G2 then.

You don't understand your power requirements. The most powerful consumer GPU, the GTX 1080, can handle 4K quite well and its power consumption is 180W for an aftermarket GPU. Getting an 850W PSU for one or even two is overkill.

It's decent.

i3-6100 + GTX 960 (currenly psu Chieftec GPS-700A8, 214.2W (LinX (idle) + Furmark) and 153W in games with load gpu and cpu closer to 100% consumption at the socket 220V). Pls help me select PSU (very hard select for me):
Seasonic G-450 80 Plus Gold 450W (SSR-450RM)
or
be quiet! Straight Power 10 400W (BN230)
P.S: sry for my bad english

Please don't double post , you already have a thread open.

Assuming something poor like 81% efficiency, I'm going to say that puts your PC right at 173W, which seems very accurate to what about max load should be for a machine like that. So, what's wrong with your Chieftec? Being realistic here it probably won't handle 700W worth of hardware but it can probably handle 170W (or even less when gaming since Furmark is torture).

Anyway the Straight Power 10 will almost definitely be quieter. It also has 4 12V rails for better protection. Performance wise, they are similar. I'd take whichever is cheaper.

Hey guys I got the New PSU and it's working great. However my Strix 1070 might have an issue..... When im playing battefield 4 the fans are spinning but the middle one is spinning significantly lower then the other two. HW Monitor says the max temps were 62C and the powers were 108.86%. Anyone got any ideas?

This is a psu discussion thread. Post your question in a relevant section.

What do you mean? I asked why my Strix GPU fan isnt spinning very fast. I was wondering if it could be due to my new PSU? Hw monitor says its using 108.86% power....

It PSU from the old system. The change occurs because sometimes i hear strange sounds. Like sparks 😵 I think it is not normal.

The difference of a few dollars
