My name is Praveen Kumar. My computer has H61mlv2 motherboard and Intel G630 2.7 GHz processor but now I want to upgrade it. Now I want to know if there is a 3.6 GHz or even better processor in the market for my existing Motherboard. Although I do a lot of work of Microsoft Word and Powerpoint on my computer. Or do I need to change both the board and the processor?
A brief note of my computer hardware components
  1. BIOSTAR h61mlv2 board
  2. intel Pentium CPU g630 @ 2.7 GHz
  3. 4096mb RAM
  4. NVIDIA GeForce GT 710
  5. soundcard
  6. 1TB WD harddrive
  7. other major components

You have the option of upgrading to several CPUs, but the chances of them performing like you want are not great. Your motherboard doesn't support any of the top end CPUs for the 2nd or 3rd generation Core i processors. Your best bet for higher single core speed is to look at the i3 3250. It would probably do office applications fairly well. I'm afraid there isn't really anything that will do 3.6 GHz on your current platform, but clock speed isn't everything.
