Question about case front audio cables

I have a cooler master CM 690 case and the audio cable has HD audio adapter (which I have plugged into my MB) and then off that adapter it has more wire leading to a AC'97 adapter which then has more wire leading from that that ends in individual AC'97 wiring. My question is can I just cut off the remaining wires after the HD audio adapter. I don't need it and it is really ugly. This was my first build so I just want to make sure it will not screw up the HD audio adapter that I am actually using.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

It's always possible you might need these on a future build and I would not cut them off. Just wrap them. If you don't want to just use a black tie, you can a always buy color ones.
