I got bored of the usual classes I play (monks/wizards/elementalists) so I
thought about farmers, just for a change. That raised some questions:

Is there any use for the dog a farmer gets as a pet?
They seem to be quite weak in the beginning, but maybe they get a bit
better after gaining some exp; so is it worth raising it's exp level?

And what about that level 18 ability to pick better herbs? Does it make
any real difference?

Any tips in general for a farmer?

Depends on your point of view. By level 18 I'm usually pretty well stocked
with herbs. However, if you're not it does make a significant difference...

Assuming 100 herbalism, non farmers get a 65/26/9% (B/U/C) chance of
each status when picking an herb. level 18+ farmers get 80.5/15/4.5%.

Not really, other than as a sacrifice to the ants in the PC when trying
to rescue the puppy in an unfavorably generated PC:2.

Heck yes! Their first three class powers in particular are great.

Try to generate as much good stuff as possible (go through all the
early dungeons, PC, UD, VD) early on to make up for their weak starting
eq. Playing a tough race helps a lot, too.

*lol* I meant the dogs, not the PC. So what class powers does the little
dog get, circular bites? Roar? Avalanche rescue dog? ;-)

Anyway thanks for your tips.

Well, it depends if your dog is fighter or spellcaster.. 😉 At level 6
dog spellcasters can magically exchange any enemy into bone at no cost
😉

Against these, their powers are gnawt.
