I have a Asus A7V266-E raid motherboard with a couple of IBM deskstar 40GB.The hardrives are connected to the promise 1 and 2 connector. Both HD are masters.I use the correct cables (40-80).The lite bios for the raid setup worked fine and detected everything correcttly and confirm that everything is " functionnal ".My problem is that I cant format those drives because the MB bios do not detect the configured array. No letter "c" drive exist.I'm sure that the drives are ok I've check them before.
Please help
Thanks
Alain

The motherboard BIOS won't see these drives ever unless you connect them to it. You have two BIOS systems. The BIOS on the motherboard and the Promise BIOS that you are using to configure your array.

Depending on what OS you are using your going to need to create a partition on the drive before you can format it. Without a partition the drive won't show any drive letter and won't let you format it.

With Win9x use Fdisk to create the partition. If it's Win NT, 2000, or XP then just use disk management.
