[SOLVED] Ram latency too high and cpu performing poorly.

slots used 2 of 4
ram usage at startup:
Memory

16.0 GB

Speed: 3200 MHz
Slots used: 2 of 4
Form factor: SODIMM
Hardware reserved: 274 MB

Available 9.2 GB
Cached 5.2 GB
Committed 8.7/18.6 GB
Paged pool 353 MB
Non-paged pool 338 MB
In use (Compressed) 6.2 GB (220 MB)
Seems odd that the gigabyte site says 2 slots.

Go here and verify you have the latest bios and chipset driver.

Moving on to ram usage go to task manager/startup and disable as much as possible.

Your using almost 7GB of ram at startup.
That's a bunch.
Make the startup group skinny.

How many ram slots does this pc have?
I have 16GB of ram in the laptop with 2 slots being used. When i check the ram usage, the apps are only using around 1GB but somehow 7GB is being utilized.

I asked about the ram slots because GB says 2 slots and ubm says 4 slots.

How many slots does task manager/perf/mem show?

My first guess is that you have the memory in the wrong slots so that you are only getting single channel memory. What does CPU-Z say about the memory? Single or dual channel ?
