Region Free

I just bought a toshiba 1302 (TSDM1302B0). It's toshiba's first non-region free drive. It is about a generation old. What am i missing out on? My understanding is that it will play all DVD's sold in the US. Will it still do the MPEG-4 stuff?

It won't do MPEG4, nothing will for a long time to come.
