I tried to replace the Thermal Paste on a GPU as temps are getting pretty high after basic use (60+ degrees c), Its a blower style and I tried unscrewing the back but one of the screwheads is stripped and wont come out.

Any tips for removing the screw?

Also, its on an old 770 and cpu temps are like 30/35 so I'm presuming the high GPU temps are due to dry paste?

Good luck.

As far as high GPU temps go, it could be for a variety of reasons like dust accumulation. Though idling temps doesn't really paint the entire picture. If it has a problem maintaining base clock speeds when under load due to thermal throttling, then there's a cause for concern.

A CPU idling at 30-35C is normal though.

Has been cleaned of dust a few times so I think its good in that regard.

The last time I pushed the card, the system shut down so it hasn't been pushed since then, I've kept stress to a minimum and temps are still constantly above 55 regardless of any applications running.
