I have I3-3220 and plan to upgrade my GPU from GT 1030 to RX 470 4gb, it l bottleneck or what? I have FSP 500watts
I'm on a tight budget but I will upgrade my CPU to i5-3470 this year.what is your budget?
if you want a good CPU chose a ryzen 5 2600 and use Rx 570 or 580
I'll upgrade my CPU to I5-3470, would this be a good combo? There will be bottleneck in CPU intensive games but a good combo for everything else. PSU should be good enough.
Yes very good combo there are still games that support more than 4 threads but that I5 and that card are perfect matchI'll upgrade my CPU to I5-3470, would this be a good combo?
I only play CSGO, Skyrim and alike no triple A games I guessThe 470 can play any game at 60fps 1080p if you carefully select the game settings. An i5 3470 is not strong enough to average 60fps in some modern cpu heavy games and will see dips under this. The 3470 is below the minimum recommended in several newer AAA games. Maybe an i7 3770 is an option but at some point you need to decide to stop putting money into an obsolete platform and it’s better to wait and save until you can upgrade the whole platform. Investing in obsolete platforms gives very limited returns in performance if you want to play modern AAA games.
are xeons not bad or what?If you can swing it, I would update your bios and buy a used XEON 1270v2 on ebay. It's basically a core i7 3770 without the iGPU. It has 4 cores and 8 threads, a 3.5ghz base clock and 3.9ghz boost clock. They run about $85 on ebay. Shouldn't bottleneck the 470 at all.
Copy, but still will upgrade soon, Thanks for the input! You will get a performance improvement from the RX 470, so no worries.
But, as suggested, your CPU might then be holding you back. However, there is no immediate need to get the CPU at the same time. You will NOT lose performance by keeping the same CPU and going to a better GPU.
In which case you should have a good setup.I only play CSGO, Skyrim and alike no triple A games I guess
