[SOLVED] Samsung 860 Evo underperforming?

Good morning/afternoon/evening everyone. I ran a benchmark without OC on any devices, and most results were good, aside from my Samsung SSD seriously underperforming.. does anyone have any idea why?

Just to give some context,
-defrag optimized the drive, its not fragmented

-295 GB free out of 931GB (1TB)

-It's not the C: Drive, its E:

-GPU scored ever so slightly less than prior and considered it "below expectations", meh.

Here is a link to the results & images of the current condition:

You're right, I put the wrong SSD. As for "atto benchmark", I'm honestly not sure how to post a screenshot, but I uploaded the image of the atto test results, its posted below

So the results look bang on for you ssd. When running userbenchmark, which I hate btw, you have to make sure nothing is on in the background,no programs running etc. It should be a sterile test. Userbenchmark is notorious for alarming users because they had something running in the background and affected the results.

1st - you don't have 970 evo.
2nd - your 860 evo has very good performance. 450mb/s read write is as good as 860 evo can get.
3rd your M.2 drive is Toshiba KBG30ZMV256G. Performance rating is a bit lower than it normally should have, but still within acceptable levels for this model.

I appreciate the clarification, yeah I put the wrong model. I'm not concerned with the Toshiba though, I'm concerned with the Evo. The benchmark classified it as horribly underperforming, though I wouldn't be too surprised if the benchmarks for storage are inaccurate on the site.

First off don't defrag an ssd it does nothing but use up cycles on your drive. Defrag is for hdd. Use atto benchmark app to see what your ssd is really doing. Post up the results if you would. BTW your header says 970 Evo but your user benchmark reports a 860 evo.

Thank you for teaching me about not defragging SSD's though, I'll only use the trim tool for them moving forward

Run UserBenchmark again. It looks like your SSD test started off at 197Mb/sec then slowly caught up to 450, which is what it should run at.

I'd hazard a guess something else was writing to the disk at the time and made the benchmark artificially low.

When you say "bang on" , I take it that's a good thing? when I ran the benchmark, every % in task manager was at 0-2%, aside from RAM, which hovers around 12%. I couldn't have lowered the usage on it much more than that. I also had a near immaculate CPU score, I really couldn't have closed any other apps, but I appreciate the guidance. I'll use other apps for the storage benchmarks moving forward, I'll never defrag an SSD, and I really appreciate your guidance my G.
