After this thread, with stellar suggestions, I wouldn't ask you to get that prebuilt. The prebuilt is not a mild step it's akin to sliding down the entire mountain. Steve on Gamers Nexus has stated that Dell's prebuilts aren't worth the money. You go through one of Dell's teardowns and then realize it's just a system in a box and you're limited to said box's boundaries, meaning your upgrade options are heavily stifled. I won't address the lack of a discrete GPU in the prebuilt.

I wouldn't recommend dead platform hardware. A bit over that OEM junk, but will game far better, and can be upgraded.

I don't think the 12100 is very good value with how expensive the motherboards are. It would probably be better to get a 10400 or 10100 or spend more for a 12400

Spending more on the 12400 yes, the 10400 not really. With an RX 6600 there would be 0 difference, in gaming, but you get an actual upgrade path. Also that board is much cheaper, in USD, than CAD. Everything costs more there.

But is also means when more CPU limited in todays games, the 12100F is often comparable to parts such as the Ryzen 7 3700X and Core i5-10600K, which is remarkable.

It's also a huge step up from the Core i3-10100F, boosting 1% lows by 28% on average with a 21% increase for the average frame rate. It's also typically quite a bit punchier than the Ryzen 5 3600, another great budget CPU from years past.

Wow I did not realize it was that good. And considering a lot of games don't take advantage of more than 8 threads it looks great for gaming
