Hey i just bought a used gtx 1070 to pair it with my i3-8100 which is sure to be a bottleneck . so i was wondering should i get stronger intel cpu which should be cheaper(like an i5 from 8th gen) but not that great or swap to r5 3600 which is way better imo but a lot more expensive since i would have to buy ram, mobo and CPU as well , it's worth the hazzle?
pd:i'm planning so tplay some games like mh world, gta v , rdr2 on 1080´/1440p mid-high settings

specs
Cpu-i38100
mobo:Gygabyte b360m dsh3
ram: hyperx 8x1 2400 mhz
psu: Evga bronze 500 w
ssd: kingston 240gb hyperx
hdd: 1tb toshiba Adata
gpu: aorus gtx 1070
case :idk ;s

Solution
I suggest you buy your GTX1070 and see how you do.
Yes, the 3600 is better but you will also need to buy a new motherboard.
I think I would look at the i5-9600KF. for less.
You can not overclock it, but the clocks and turbo will be better than the 3600.
You will be going from 4 threads to 6.
Your games are not particularly well threaded so the 12 threads of the 3600 may not be that helpful.

ryzen depends on fast ram. your 1 x 8gb 2400 speed is not that good so you are looking at another $65 for a 2 x 16gb kit.
