Hello,

I have a Logitech Z5300 5.1 Surround Sound system hooked up to my computer that I rarely turn off. Whenever I start my computer, I hear a short base noise. The sound system runs fine, I'm just concerned that by not turning the system off, and having the base noise when I turn the system on that I am damaging the speakers. I know for instance that you are always supposed to turn speakers off when unplugging their analog cables to avoid the static sound that occurs if you do that. Any help would be appreciated. I apologize in advance if I am a bit vague.

Do you mean when jack is connected then there is that noise? Then it is the cable. In my speaker, i have same problem with cable. Mine is creative inspire 4400 4.1. But it will not damage your speaker.
