My problem is similar to the log-on problem of madrussian (a few posts down) except in my case I boot quickly to the desktop but there is a 1 minute delay before anything will respond. In the 'msconfig' menue I have everything disabled under startup but under services there are 75 enabled (all microsoft). I am unsure which I need to leave enabled as awhile back I started disabling some of them and I ran into quite a few problems. Any input would be appreciated. This is a 2 month old computer (I made) with a fresh install of XP Home+service Pk 1.
