Question Some Motherboards Require a BIOS Update Before Working With 9th Gen?

PcPartPicker is warning me that I may need to update the BIOS on my motherboard before it is compatible with a 9th generation Intel chip. Because of this I have 2 questions.

1. Is this true?
2. Is there a way to update the bios on the motherboard without needing a previous generation chip?

CPU: i5-9600k
Motherboard: MSI Z370I GAMING PRO CARBON AC Mini ITX LGA1151

2. On that motherboard there is not

That board requires bios version 7B43v15(or newer) to support the 9600k.
