For elmo not being impressed. All thurban is an 6 core cpu with a new turbo core feature. Nothing is majority improved.

What i think he wants is a new Arch from AMD that improves clock for clock performance (aka bulldozer). Which to me, from what i see. AMD has a very good chance of taking the performance crown back with bulldozer as i dont really see the Intel sandy bridge (with the current info about it) a major step up from Nehalem.

And to think how I thought I was being a good person by defending you (multiple times) on these forums. God forbid you call me stupid again... I don't want to face reality, in case you're correct... as if that reality of yours is anything that I would call down-to-earth.

Or maybe I was just "doing it deliberately." How dare you be so disrespectful. I hope you're just trolling.

The truth is, this is all what jenny is saying.

I'd like to hear an apology, but I'm convinced that her ego will get in the way.

Anything new on Thuban, JDJ?

K10a has very few changes, especially in performance, to K8. Actually... I can't really think of any majors changes from K8 to K10. This is exonerated by the fact that K10's performance per clock is only very slightly higher than K8. None of these hold true between Nehalem and the P3.

However, I do feel that Thuban is a bigger step forward than it appears most people posting here do. While it's not challenging Intel's crown, it is a significant achievement in process tech. at least. Putting 50% more processing power into a chip with a ~200Mhz clock speed decrease at a roughly equal power envelope is impressive. All-in-all, Thuban is a chip we didn't even know was coming awhile ago, and it's got even more than just 2 tacked-on cores (turbo, lower power than expected, and higher clocks than expected (much higher than Istanbul))

Hopefully it beats out the 920 at stock. Clock for clock I couldn't really care less (AMD won't make much ground on that until Bulldozer, and everyone knows this).

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/27?vs=120 That is not a very slight increase per clock. What I was getting at is it doesn't matter where/when the design of the chip comes from. Or what it's based off.

P3 lead to the Pentium M and so on... Find something that works and tweak it and modify it. While the current Intel chips are vastly different from the p3 the origins come from the Intel P6 micro arch.. We all recall how well the last time Intel built a new mirco arch went. Good ol netburst.

Some one has set light to a firework...

Im just gonna sit back and watch the display..........

and then just facepalm at the dum one sided comments :)......

jeez this is almost as entertaining as watchin sharon stones character getting interviewed in Basic Instinct.

Yawn what a bunch of sad losers. You can't even make your own interesting discussion, it's just the same tired old people who know they are stupid but can't admit their mistakes, so they'd rather pretend they didn't make any in the first place.

That's you 'pentium generations' like Hellboy and Failzers btw. You bought the blue kool-aid years ago and your own ingrained lack of wisdom keeps you making the same mistake over and over.

You can probably tell I dont give $%&@ about being banned from this laughable forum, to think you whack heads say AMDZone is bad - this place is way worse than AMDZone lol, and it's you morons who are making it the pits, along with pathetic mods like Mousemonkey.

And just to prove how much of a joke this forum is...
Look I will take my ban for this:

"Lonely women will do desperate things to emasculate men." BadTrip.

jennyh,

You've already been banned several times in the past. You've been giving several chances and a lot of leeway. You aren't going to get much more slack before you see a permanent ban. I suggest you stop insulting the other members.
-aford10

aford10, won't ban an intel fanboy even when he asks for it, but there is no hesitation to have a go at me. This forum is the pits, the mods are an absolute joke - aford10 is just another Mousemonkey in the making.

If you in any way care for your sanity, find another forum to frequent as it's just going to get worse. Leave the intel fanboys here to drown in their own bile.

just keep living in your own little world......

My dear, you have too many rattles and not enough prams..

Calisse!

This thread could have been something great but you ruined it. I really wanted a discussion on this topic and because of you... we got a flame war.

You always do this Jenny.. always. It is VERY annoying. And then people wonder why folks like JumpingJack refuse to post on THG now.

Calm down Jenny, take a deep breath and make some reasonable and rational arguments. It's that simple. Control that "feeling" you have for AMD and instead offer a level headed approach tailored to your preference rather than a knee jerk reactionary response to any perceived threat.

If you do that.. we will get along and I can assure you that we will have more fruitful exchanges (and many less knowledgeable forum members will gain from the exchanges).

Peace,

Rick.

I think now she can go away in short jerky movements......

Had enough of her forum bullying...because some one else has an opinion.. It is not funny anymore, shes turning inwardly nasty... She needs some good time out... . Caused too many threads to be locked imho.....

Come back Yipsl she was a amd fan who never in a million years came to this... Its more like Thunderman in different clothing.

One word girl: Men.

What'd you expect sister? 😛

C'mon people let's get back on topic.

Has anyone checked the if the results are legit yet?

The results do look close enough, looks like the X6 might end up being something like a beefed (should I use that word?) up Athlon II X4. Good video encoding etc. not so good at gaming. Whatever happens I hope AMD at least has something to challenge Intel with. Remember we always want the consumer to win :).

w/b fanfgirl :)

Yet you felt compelled to add your $.02 to this thread, I guess..

I haven't noticed you posting anything useful, ever - just a bunch of 'rah-rah AMD' & 'Gee - I didn't even know MC was out yet!' So basically you're in the peanut gallery, showering the rest of us with your "valuable" opinions on stuff that you apparently don't really understand.

We're not on the defensive here.

If you click on the "1" above (for the first page of this thread) and you look at the first post... you will probably notice that I created this thread. JennyH came into my thread with a defensive attitude and went on the offensive. Best to keep your facts straight.

Um, dont think so. So unless something slip underneath my nose, the soonest 32nm cpu from amd will be bulldozer and that wont be sometime untill 2011.

Boy, he really baited you into that one, fazers. LuLz.

To jenny: While I recommend the best buy (AMD or Intel) for anyone who asks their opinion, I am currently a biased AMD user and have only bought AMD products for myself in the past 5 years. Stop alienating me. :non: :pfff:

To everyone else: Let's all just agree that the X6 will succeed if it performs at least as well as expected and has a competitively low price. There are plenty of people out there with existing AM2+/AM3 platforms that would welcome a boost in CPU power; and, there are plenty of people that haven't yet upgraded to Intel's Core i5/i7 and will have an option from AMD that competes aggressively with Intel on the price/performance front (maybe even efficiency or even efficiency/dollar). If Thuban doesn't do any of these things, God (or nature or advantageous statistical fluctuation or... jenny) help AMD.
