Yes, everyone is biased and with that they ask you to put away that bias and reach a verdict based on the facts. Not truths as someone else lamented.

So you have 5 white people and a minority deciding the fate of a hispanic man who killed a black teenager. If one person didn't find him not guilty it would have resulted in a hung jury. The minority person also voted that he was not guilty.

Simple, done deal.

The law is biased for some, so what? It's truth. Incidents like this is what causes change.


Part of the problem is that he media doesn't really show any major cases involving black individuals unless it's O.J. or this. For some people, that is the truth.

OMG - I was posting those same links about them but had to stop.. popped back on to post those. They didn't make news because it was black on white crime.. horrible, horrible torture and murder. Nancy Grace covered the story for 15 minutes one night.

Earlier this year they were all re-tried because the judge was on prescription pills. One received a lighter sentence.

Yes, absolutely bias in the media. When it's black on white, they don't report it. When its white or hispanic on black, it's national news.


And Stand Your Ground had zero to do with this case. Apparently you didn't bother reading it or watching any of the trial. Before it even started everyone knew they were going with plain old self defense against felony assault.

This case has nothing to do with the SYG law. If you had bothered to read the whole thread, you have seen this point already argued to death.

First I don't have to read the thread because I already followed the case. He was acquitted on self defense. But SYG is constantly inserted into the conversation. Next question.

The way I saw it, was GZ was doing good for his community, by working on the neighborhood watch. He saw someone who seemed suspicious. Whether it was because Martin was black or not doesn't really matter. You might be surprised to know that Cops profile on a daily basis. For example, more crime is committed in the inner cities/ghetto areas, so more police are assigned there. It increases the chances of being successful.

Zimmerman followed someone looking suspicious. Martin took offense to it, which I don't really fault him for. When I was that age, I would've done the same thing. But the consequence is, the person he decided to attack had a gun.

Martin crossed the line, and zimmerman felt his life was in danger. He had a legal right to use deadly force to stop the attack.

But making this about race is just garbage.
