lol, really? Bring up OJ because you have no clue what you're talking about. OJ's case was lost by the prosecution being incompetent and under high pressure. The entire case was a joke because too many inconsistencies were in everyone's storyline, which means acquittal. For Zimmerman, the facts keep backing up his statements. Fact is, he called to report the person. Twice. That alone should be enough to remove the murder charge because there was no intent to commit murder. The manslaugther charge could possibly stick but based on those pesky facts, witnesses, police reports, and phone recording, he'll end up walking free. Even the local police force recognizes this and they are preparing for riots.

Writing is on the wall unless the prosecution can find some golden bullet to bring him down... which they won't. This whole thing has been a witch hunt based on people like you who believe personal truths are better evidence than facts in the court of law.

You are naive when it comes to the legal system.

You must watch Michael Savage to make a statement like this about Al S.

Marv, I think you spend more time watching right wing opinion talk shows than anyone else here. :)

The police around the trial are preparing for riots. They will have riots. You already know people are planning to riot.. the question, what do they hope to accomplish? That they don't trust the system, it doesn't align with their street views?

or get a the respect they deserve. Mainly because by the mentality in Sanford is that the only way you can tell if a black person isn't lying is if their lips are not moving.... Then again there are some people that live the sterotypical thug lifestyle too.

I guess the world owes you something, right? I suppose your momma didn't ever tell you the only person in the world that will take care of you is yourself?

That's a misconception about respect. You hear a lot of people demanding respect. It isn't respect they really want. It is dignity. People often confuse the two. Respect is earned; Dignity is a universal right.

Respect:
1.esteem: a feeling or attitude of admiration and deference toward somebody or something
2.state of being admired: the state of being admired deferentially
3.thoughtfulness: consideration or thoughtfulness

Dignity:
1.self-respect: a proper sense of pride and self-respect
2.seriousness in behavior: seriousness, respectfulness, or formality in somebody's behavior and bearing
3.worthiness: the condition of being worthy of respect, esteem, or honor

MLK said it, judge me not by the color of my skin but by the content of my character.

Trayvon's character is being put on trial; The pictures, the drug use.. they won't allow his text messages about him wanting to fight or whatever it was about.. that's fine. But it does show his character. And in the defense's case, they must provide some doubt that Trayvon did in fact attack Zimmerman and not the other way around. The defense is looking good when you look at each person's character. His defense doesn't need to prove anything without a doubt, they only need to prove doubt. On the other side, the Prosecution needs to prove without a doubt that Zimmerman was intent on murdering Trayvon regardless, in order for the 2nd Degree Murder charge to stick. It very likely won't. Now, on the charges of Manslaughter, that's where it's up in the air because the Jury could see enough doubt to remove the Murder charge but not the manslaughter charge. That's the prosecution's hope. Except Zimmerman will likely only serve a few years. Trayvon's supporters will not be happy with such a small conviction; Prosecution will get a win and a feather in their hat.

But utlimately, Zimmerman will likely walk free because manslaughter probably won't stick because his defense is pretty solid. Even the police officers who are trained in physical combat are saying that Trayvon was physically superior to Zimmerman. As I stated in another thread, you have 2 ways to deal with conflict: Reason and Force. Reason went out the door, and the firearm evens the physical abilities. Based on witness accounts and forensic evidence, it should be very clear that Zimmerman did not draw his firearm until after being attacked and on his back. Given that, murder charges won't stand and manslaughter? Well, he was really defending himself against a superior physical force. He simply had to be afraid for his life. Given that he could potentially lose control of his firearm if knocked unconscious, it is very reasonable he was afraid for his life.

He walks a free man. We'll know probably by Wednesday or Thursday of next week. Just in time for weekend riots! :)

They want both dignity and respect and using George Zimmermans own words he judged Trayvon, not giving him either. GZ is no saint. He's suffering the hero complex wanting to do something admirable yet look what he has done...divide people for his own self serving ego. His 15 minutes will be over and this is all he will have in life to be famous for. Maybe he can hang out with Casey Anthony and make porn movie together?

but you are right...there is no way GZ will be charged.....

Now look at the Angel Corey.....heard some bad things........

A man who views the world the same at fifty as he did at twenty has wasted thirty years of his life.

So Sanford is basically a black community with hardly any whites living there?

If I was on trial for things I did in high school I would be guilty of many many things. Im still thankful I didnt record any of that on facebook, or myspace...

My concern here is the abuse of the stand your ground law.

There are more minotities than whites but the whites have the $$$...There has been moderate progress over race relations in the past 10 years but the Jackie Robinson hiistory remains a touchy subject there and the minoroties always feel like underclass citizens. The media failing to bring GZ photos only fueled the feelings of minorities

Stand your Ground law: He isn't using that law for his defense. He's used straight up "personal defense." For this case, Stand your Ground is not being abused.

As I had said, the prosecution now realizes that a 2nd degree murder charge won't stick. They're shooting for 3rd degree, or Manslaughter, which does have a chance to stick but with a much lesser sentence, likely 3-7 years with parole. Riots, they are a comin'.

SYG cannot be used when you are pursuing someone from what I heard on CNN. Personal defense is where he will walk, even if he is found guilty of anything the defense will appeal it immediately.

Now I understand what is going on with this trial. Thanks to you for bringing me t5his brief bit of information.Things make more sense now and I see where Zimmerman is coming from.

Really? How so? GZ chose not to follow instructions, chose to expose his HOA to a civil suit and look like a racist POS by using the word "they." They means what?

I let you in on a little secret...shhh!!! They're everywhere.

Now consider yourself informed.

I think they'll try a civil suit. The burden of proof is preponderance of evidence, vs the beyond a reasonable doubt, that is required in a criminal case. It's basically the way they double dipped and got OJ.

Exactly. It's a way for the NAACP to make waves, stomp their feet, and complain some more.

Not surprised by the Not Guilty verdict. They really didn't have much evidence. GZ had all the physical damage while Martin didn't have anything on him, not a scratch, prior to being shot.

Justice was served based on our laws. The problem is that the black culture is against the justice system and wants their own personal ideals instilled instead. This is why we have laws.

Being that Zimmerman did have a firearm on him and was attacked, he risked being knocked out and losing control of that firearm and could have feared being shot by his own gun. This happens in less than 1% of gun related deaths though. But it happens. Martin, being a kit, decided he wanted to fight. Well, sorry kid, life has consequences and unfortunately he learned them early. Instead of discussing life's choices and the consequences and risks, they want this guy railroaded. This should be a learning lesson.

Zimmerman had a firearm on him because he was concerned. He legally gained access to that firearm. His fear was realized that night. Yes, he could have avoided the situation. A wrongful death civil case MAY get him guilty.. but he doesn't have any money. He will likely just file banktupcy and be done with it.

But the laws have been shown to be biased. They're created by humans. Jim Crow laws, remember that. I swear people tend to forget history. Laws in the US have always been against minorities. Harsher punishment for crack cocaine vs crack powder.

If people have the right to protest and voice their concern, why get mad?

Nobody has forgot history. That is what it is, history. the NAACP and all the other affirmative action groups want to keep drudging that up each time they think a black person has been wronged. The laws don't state anything about white vs. black. And neither white nor black should be doing either type of crack, so the penalty is irrelevant.

It's not irrelavant when the President steps in on drugs (several, actually). It's still prejudice. Institutational racism.

Harsher punishment for blacks still exist today for the same a white counterpart does. The bias is implicit.

You can't just delete over 300 years of oppression as it is ingrained in society. The law has a history of not being of being just and it's still not fair today. It's going ot be like this for a while.
