"The police investigation into Martin's death also has been roundly criticized by his family and others. [...] Local authorities were also unable to protect potential evidence at the scene -- like blood -- from getting washed away by the rain, according to the newspaper."

Are you kidding me? Protect the blood in an outside environment in a place where people live? That's an argument they're trying to use that the police screwed up? If the police screwed up. Zimmerman technically should get a free pass and avoid any court system.

Wheres this third party?
I mean, if they expect to find blood, whos it going to be?
As per location, thats a given.

Yea, someones got to be blamed.
Mistakes happen, and Im sure this wasnt planned, none of it

Go to a area like Bedford Styvesant in brooklyn and walk there at 11pm and see what happens to you. Then tell me this crap about we are are wrong in what we do in this society meaning White folks.

I agree. They should have special handling.

Society should show them the same consideration that they showed their victims.

These killers you profess to talk about needs special handling like doing the same things they did to their victims. An eye for an eye like the Bible quotes. To much liberation our society has for them and not enough punishment!

You would draw the conclusion to pick one of the worst neighborhoods for the black community to compare? A place where people do not follow the law, crime and drugs are the norm?

I'm a bit surprised but your lack of perception to your prejusdice. We go from a middle class neighborhood to a recovery slum. Why not just say "Rich white neighborhod vs. poor black neighborhood?" Or maybe "Lawful wealthy neighborhood vs. poor crime-ridden neighborhood."

That seems to tbe the comparison you are attempting to draw! Not all white people are rich and law abiding. Not all black people are poor criminals with drug problems.

I guess you are wearing blinders to long to see what is going on in life. take Chicago killing after killing almost every day. There are parts of Long island where I use to live where the white is picked upon constantly.Stop kidding yourself please.

A good friend of mine grew up near Watts, shes white, and yes, she had to fight.
But many a time someone came to her aid.
1 good person eliminates 10 bad ones, but that message cant be ruined by hate mongers, try as they might

Sorry. I guess I'm not understanding what point you're trying to make? Yes, there are a lot of black ghettos where people are killed often. These ghettos are far more well known than white ghettos. Statistically the American black is very likely to do drugs or commit a crime than any other race in the US.

What are you trying to point out? Inequality?

Regardless of what I do, we do, the Nation does, we are unable to change the mentality of a community of people. It starts at home. It was not the white-man who caused black Americans have to a high rate of fatherless children. I know many successful black, many I call friend, and they do well. The major thing I notice about them is their mentality is different. They see racist the same as I do, yet they don't let to take over their lives or ruin everything, just as I do not let it control my life. This is a mentality thing and something that is taught by their parents.
As we have flags about remembering the POWs in Vietnam, the black parents also pass down their story to their children and very likely create an unnecessary false sense of racism and/or entitlement from a closing chapter in Americana.

They are taught they were slaves, they were abused, taken from their homeland, etc. I do not understand why many do not look at what they accomplished regardless of being slaves. They played a major part in creating one of the greatest nations in the modern world. They did it against their wills, but without them this country would have not been. A few generations later and they have opportunities available to them that people all over the world seek to have.. and yet, they somehow keep living in the past and not looking at today or the future. Many do, yet far more do not.

This is nothing something we as a people can resolve. This is something that needs to come from their community. With leaders like Sharpton and Jackson, this will never be. They are constantly reopening a wound that we are trying to close. They do not want it to slip into the past.. they do not want it to go away and have progress in moving forward. They are blinded by their own dislike of the white culture. Yet, they stand there in their suits, enjoy their success, and play in the 'white culture' but cater to the their 'black roots' for their continued success.

Sharpton and Jackson are *** disturbers which incite more bias than anything. There are bad and good in all of us in life.We all BLEED THE SAME.

There will be bias and prejudice until we die i am afraid. This is the nature of the person be it white or black.

A good person, openly telling the truth is hard to ignore, and ever harder to dislike, and no color, upbringing will seperate them from the truth, and usually end up being admired.

I cant take the MSMs POV to do this, regarding anyone, as usually, you just want them to spell your name right

I agree with you about that.Transparency and honesty and kindness make up a persons personality be them whatever color they are.

"An eye for an eye" has two meanings:
1. Retribution.
2. Make the punishment fit the crime.

The two are not at all the same.

You believe in it?

Do you believe in the death penalty? The threat of having that alone should hopefully deter people from certain actions, yet life in prison with parole is too often the case.

I watched Lincoln Lawyer last night. Good movie btw.

The death penalty has historically not affected the crime rate.

There are really two roads you can take rehabilitation or removal, either death or permanent incarceration.

I agree that maybe it didn't affect the crime rates. I don't think we have solid evidence of that since avoiding the death penalty isn't difficult by today's standards.

Now, look to Washington, DC where the handgun ban was removed and see the significant drop in crime. This would lead me to believe that an immediate consequence is more effective than a long term trial, retrial, and plea deal.

Our justice system is broke and criminals have more rights than the innocent.

Permanent jail time is costing a tremendous amount of money the tax payers are shelling out. Most of these inmates really who do minor offenses do not need to be in there.Over crowding of prisons especially in Ca. where this state is really suffering economically.

Keep people who actually need to be removed from society in prison. Thats what the purpose should be.

If you still feel the need to incarcerate minor offenders, put them into a work camp.... the roads out here are notoriously pot holed.

Mistrial? nah, I would say more like he's going to walk free. She also testified she heard the "grass crumpling" when Trayvon fell. Uh, can a cell phone even pick that up, let alone a person know what that sounds like?

Oh, plus she tossed in a few lies and some additional insight into Trayvon's racial comments.

She even said she was 16 so she wouldn't have to go in front of the court. Really? C'mon. She should go to jail based on that and what she's been tweeting about with the case... double standards.

I agree with you. She is not a credible witness at all. She is a bit slow mentally in fact.
