Not all components will go into those ranges "easily". Its mostly a trial and error basis before you'll reach that mark. There are several aspects/factors that can make or break your overclock. I'd study up on it as Tiny + Nuke have stated since you've held out a long time to have this machine up and running.

It'd be a shame to see it go kapow on its maiden run, no?

It is not really that easy with the GPU. You will hit power limits, jump too far, brick the card. All kinds of things can go wrong. Definitely read up. Don't forget that EVERY card is different. Even identical ones. You must overclock in VERY small increments. I would suggest you do some more reading before you go messing with sliders. Also, chances are you will see no need at all to overclock it.

Ah sweet I ordered my 840 Evo to go with my AMD rig. Amazing I spent $250 ($89 for 840 Evo + $107 for FX-8320 + $59 for 1TB Caviar Blue) in upgrades and I practically have a new PC out of it. I will be getting the GTX 760 though, it's just a question of when.

This is the configuration as it stands:

Done. Core temp said max was 57 but it ever got up there. Usually in the 47-52 range TOTAL. But max it saw a core go up to was 54/ Most of the time it was on 48 according to link. Hows that?

Interesting how the PC things my GPU is part of the 79xx series. It says 7970..probs cause its the same. I installed the catlayst driver...thing. I think it has mantle.

^^^NEVERMIND. Its now an R9 series after the update.

I currently have a much older Intel SSD in there now and it's not been the greatest drive I've ever had. I've had tons of blue screens and other crap associated with it. I was really torn between getting the OCZ Vertex 460 and the Samsung 840 Evo - most benchmarks I looked at were about dead even but the Evo edged out on more than a few of them and it was $10 cheaper. So Evo wins.

You need to plug it into the correct GPU port. Most GPUs with dual DVI ports only have ONE which works with a VGA adapter.

All you have to do for gaming is make sure the display you want to game on it set to main display 1 in the Windows display settings.

So did intel run into temp issues on the haswell? The 4670k and 4770k just seem to run hotter looking at temps differences between my 2500k at 4.4ghz and say a 4770k at stock or overclocked. Curious what kinda temps I can expect fo see with a h100i and 4770k?
