thought I'd post the finished, for now, (Still waiting on getting a PSU cover, individually sleeved black/red cable set, decorative inside and top plates, possibly different fans and some modified feet), so yeah, I guess it's not finished, but it's finished for now and it's up and running, pics of my Define S build. Also waiting on a front emblem to replace the temporary G1 Gaming badge that's on the front panel. It's going to be the new style Superman "S" logo from Man of Steel, not the old style one.
I figured it was fitting. It's a Define "S", "S"kylake and fairly Super build, all things considered, so it's getting named Kal-El. Ok, so it's kind of nerdy, but what the hell. I like Superman, and it fits. No, I'm not painting the black parts blue, just to make it fit the scheme better. That's just going too far.
It will also get a better routing and cable management job, once I have the cable sets, but it's damn hard to route those stock cables since they're so thick, plus, with all the regular cables, plus five fans including the cooler, and four drives, it's fairly clean now all things considered. Still, the back could be a lot better so I'll work on that once I get the other cables. Whew. Glad I can take a break from this for a little while at least. It's fun, but it can wear on you after a while.
And yes, it's a Gigabyte Z170x-Gaming 5. I have to admit, the BIOS IS a little clunky compared to some others I've worked with, but it's workable. Still trying to find out if these 4 pin fan headers will control 3 pin fans through the bios so I know if I'm going to get the red/black Aerocool DS fans or not. Otherwise, I'll just stick with the Noctuas I colored as they turned out "ok", but I think the DS fans will just look much better and they have exceptionally good reviews and specs, for fans that aren't made by a company that starts with an N.
I'll also be posting a step by step full build log once I get the other parts done. Just 'cause. I mean, why wouldn't I, right? Heh.
