Best buy doesn't sell PC hardware here in Canada. I have seen Future shop (Red version of best buy) sell PC hardware, but they're pretty old stuff, like HD 6870, HD 7750 and 7770. Best buy replaced the PC area with Microsoft surface, windows laptops and tablets.

I think bestbuy in my area still has some PC hardware(Ontario), but like you say, not the newest stuff.

Both bestbuy and futureshop have massively increased the cell phone area over the years, but that is one of the top selling items so it stands to reason.

Sure am glad it is easy to get parts at many online shops.

30hz.

That would still be great if you needed the desktop space(and had the vision to use that many pixels in such a small package), but games and maybe even movies may not look right.

I guess you could 1920 x 1080 game on it and use the 4k for the real-estate

Both Best buy, and Future shop price compare, and beat the other stores price by 10%. I bought myself a G27, they had it for 400$. The cashier took out his cell phone, and saw the other stores price, and another 10% off, ended up paying 340$ including taxes.

But yeah, they lack a lot of stuff. If you play on consoles, they have a lot of games (Main reason why I went to best buy or future shop lol)

I agree.

4K for $299 is a great price.. 30Hz is a downer (kinda) but myself running single card it probably wouldn't be much of an issue.

Should I go for this:

Benq 24" 1080p tn: http://www.amazon.com/BenQ-Gaming-Monitor-RL2455HM-24-Inch/dp/B007HSKSMI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1417305234&sr=8-2&keywords=24%22+1080p+benq
or
Asus 24" 1080p ips: http://www.amazon.com/Asus-VS248H-P-24-Inch-Full-HD-LED-lit/dp/B0058UUR6E/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1417305215&sr=8-3&keywords=24%22+1080p

Not a harcore gamer, but the build quality of the benq looks so much better. Also, debating wheter not to get the m65. Great deal, but are good mice worth it?

I actually got a 49" LG UB8500 4k tv today for $900 CDN. It was another $200 off of the black friday sale price. I had ordered the HU7000 samsung 40" but when I went to pick it up their warehouse guy ran in to it with a forklift and they had no more in stock. It was one of the few times that a bad driver made my day.

I just got back from Micro Center. I found out the motherboard was indeed the issue with my White Knight rig and wound up getting a new one. I couldn't believe how crazy cheap they were selling motherboard / CPU combos for. I got the Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD3H and an i5-4690K for $280. And the motherboard had a $20 rebate. If I had bought everything from Newegg I'd be paying close to $400. I saved over $140! :bounce:

That's a story with a happy ending for sure..

Last bad driver incident I had was when a semi ran over my car. This one was a bit of an improvement.

Nice board and chip! Great savings for sure, Newegg brought that chip down to $209 for Black Friday/Cyber Monday but I decided to upgrade the CPU in my HTPC to a FX-8320E ($109 Black Friday Sale) instead.

I still cant get over this TV. I had been wanting to get a nicer TV for three Black Fridays now and I finally did it! So happy!!!!

I would love to get a new TV but that might be for next Black Friday, I've had way too many things gone wrong this year and they all needed fixing at the same time - including the White Knight crapping out on me. So there goes most of my money.

I'm fine with the Vizio I have now, if I were to get another TV it would definitely be a 4K or better.

My wife and I almost never use our TV. It is mostly for when we have guests (e.g. my parents) who have shows they like to watch. I have a 26" CRT I bought in ...2002 I think.

Another completely non computer-related purchase today was a solar oven. Yes, you can make those, if you have the tools and materials (e.g. if you're Stick), but for $160 (normally $280) it seemed like a good deal for someone who does not.

*cue the Rocky theme*

The White Knight - she lives to fight another day. Got the new motherboard, power supply, and processor installed, everything works beautifully now. Tested the i5-3570K in another system and it works fine too. Guess it was the motherboard all along, but no way was I going to pay $140 for another Z77 motherboard only to have it fail on me. And there goes my GTX 970 fund again.

My bro just got an AOC monitor 24inch and 1080p for his PC. (PC's Still didnt come yet ) They were supposed to get here on the 27th of november, so im getting it SOON! 😀 Guys, I removed the GPU and ram so Ill add those but I hope the HDD and CPU Cooler didnt break....and the PSU still works...hopefully...gosh its gonna be dusty.
