My neighbor is leasing a Quattroporte and he says that he's had nothing but problems with it. If I had that kind of money to spend on a car I would go for a 5 series or a Mercedes C class.

I wouldn't, I would make that 5% dilution mentioned on the bottle (or if you use the whole bottle it should make 3 liters or so of coolant). If you want it more red then buy some of Mayhem's dye.

I would not recommend that. De-ionized isn't the same as distilled. It could potentially cause problems.

Tiny - Lol, but they said it was! Whatever maybe Im missing something. Anyway, I called my dad as hes on his way to work and the fastrak..hes having issues....he cant find a place to put it where it would work...any ideas?

Lol...I just found out my cousin (girl) has a red convertible Mercedes and my other girl cousin (her sister) has a 2011 A4...and she dont even know how to drive. WTH Man I want to learn how to drive 🙁!

Yeah but you don't want to learn in a Tesla. You need something with duct tape holding the fenders in place, and going over the speed of 55MPH gives it the speed wobbles, similar to a skateboard. Now thats a car...

The US seems to have a lot of crappy cars on the road, is there some sort of vehicle road-worthiness test at all?
Ours is pretty thorough, and yearly. I suspect it does cut down on a lot of the "held together with tape/glue" scenarios.
I think it probably does remove a lot of classics from the road though, even trivial stuff will be very expensive to fix if you can't get hold of spares.

I did enjoy the 5.0L Mustang I bought in '86, and it wouldn't be a bad second car, but I'm a lot more interested in practicality that speed or extreme handling. If money were no object, I'm not sure I'd have any reason to get rid of this AWD Santa Fe. I might add a truck for hauling "dirty" stuff, but that's it. Boring, I'm sure...

I 100% agree. You have to learn on junk to appreciate and respect nice things. This is why so many kids wreck nice cars.

In some states like PA or WV, there are yearly or every other yearly inspections, but all they do is check tire tread depth basically. You could pass with a blown strut, oil leak, bad alignment, mismatched tires (as long as they have enough tread), duct taped body panels, etc. In other states, you ONLY get a car inspected upon purchase. In MD this is how they do it, and there is nothing stopping anyone from driving on 100% bald tires, or with any other major problems. It's ridiculous.

Tiny - Why? I learned a lot about PC's from him! But he is obnoxious lol. And thankfully we dont have a junk car to learn on.

Stick - Lol 😛 Im sure they wont let me learn in the tesla....if anything, maybe drive it in my neighborhood but I still doubt it. I would probably learn in my Moms Honda CRV 2014 is my guess which is still a nice car. ---- Oh, and OF COURSE I want to learn in the tesla, Who doesnt?! But its not a good start for me like tiny said so I can appreciate a nice car which I already do like the Hyundai Sonata, that thing is nice! But yeah I wont be learning in it. Ill get to drive it, but after I get my license....I hope...

Onus - Do you like the 2015 GT?

Should I take weights this next semester or Drivers ED?

I was "uncool" and didn't bother to take driver's ed until my last semester of HS (I was 17). Funny, I read all the novels in the school library about kids and souped-up cars, but didn't really care about driving myself, because the era described in the books was long over.
You won't find me in a highway yacht like the big Oldsmobiles my father liked to drive though. I tended to refer to them in nautical terms, like saying I knew Dad was home because his car was moored out front; or I'd walk slowly around it, get asked what I was doing, and answer "checking for barnacles." Now he has a cabin cruiser (a Honda minivan).
Are you asking my opinion of the 2015 Mustang GT? I know little if anything about it.

Onus - Haha. And as for the mustang, too bad, I thought you may like it

Tiny - Ok, Well I heard there is that course in my school I just gotta Double check. Do you work on ur permit in Drivers ED or what? Do you get it from it or does it prepare you for the permit test or...? I turn 15 AND A HALF Which is needed for a permit - in 9 days

Wow, that makes our system look pretty insane. Every car over 3 years old needs a yearly check. It's fairly basic but it does cover a decent amount of stuff. Here's a list. Some of the criteria are pretty amusing though. I like "presence" of a speedometer or that the horn works and isn't annoying.

I wish they offered a drivers ed class here. Or I could borrow the bimmer... and do some(crappy) burnouts in it, until you realise he got it in manual. I live in a quiet little cul-de-sac on a semi-long somewhat curvy road, perfect for doing burnouts.. Around the corner is a quarter mile stretch.. Little to no traffic. mmmm

I learnt to drive in a super quiet place with lots of soft verges and not a huge amount of trees to crash into. Somewhere in this view.
I need to learn again though which I think at 29 is going to be a pita. When you are young it's pretty easy because everyone sucks at first and I had no worries about making mistakes. At least second time around I'll have the basics down.

You have to go to the DMV and pass a written (computer) test for your permit. It is likely only covered for a few minutes in the class. The class is just standard drivers ed where they go over like 10 chapters. Super basic and super easy. You pass the class and then get a certificate that is required for you to get your license.
