Ah, and I just sold my Gigabyte 990FX motherboard. If it had been a week earlier.

Yep, nothing to worry about. The last thing you want to do is to over-tighten and damage the motherboard. For some reason, most amd installs I have tried have been rather wiggly.. I was a bit of this too but if you are sure you put that back-plate on right and the temps are good, you should be fine. AMD usually requires a bit more thermal paste than 1136, 1150, 1555, 1556, etc like lga 2011, but still a small amount, about an uncooked pea vs an uncooked grain of rice (from what i've seen most people do). Did you screw in the cooler in the cross pattern? If not the paste might have spread out too much in one direction, but if temps are good, your are fine.

Found this on reddit, ouch.

Haha, shipping damage I imagine. This is why you don't ship a fully assembled computer with a giant heatsink!!! And if you do, don't write fragile, because 95% of the packages say that, atleast write glass!

Yeah I'm pretty sure with full systems like that you want to take the time to make shipping blocks out of hard packed Styrofoam. Good news is I'd bet that motherboard still works. The GPUs look warped, I would carefully take the coolers off and check the PCB for a crack, if no crack then straighten the heatsink out and fire it up. Probably still works. But I've been dealing with this all morning, seeing people do dumb things. Facebook is like a heaping mound of these idiots, check pretty much any PC related group on there, chalk full of em. /end rant

That's a generous offer Joe, I'm going to marinate on it, I backed the OC down the 8320, it's running better. It will need a permanent solution eventually. I have the kids at home for two days but I've got to get back to work. Fortunately I have plenty of it lined up and waiting for me, just due to the recent circumstances I haven't gotten much done.

What motherboard?

Fake switches. They are NOT cherry. This is one of the newer Thermaltake boards with their copy-cat browns. My older Poseidon has the real browns.

I have this keyboard. The switches sound like browns, but have essentially no tactile feedback. I don't regret buying it, because it feels solid and heavy, and the illumination is even, but given the choice I'd rather have the feedback.

PC Buildler -Grrr I really want a mechanical keyboard. Oi, Get this http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Mechanical-Keyboard-Backlit-CH-9000076-NA/dp/B00M5DUJQ0/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1420044720&sr=1-2&keywords=Corsair+K70 Its my dream keyboard, which I will get...one day...along with the steel series rival mouse...my dream mouse....which I will get...One day. ALONG WITH the audio technica ATH m50s, which I will get.....one day. Lol.

You can get the K70 in MX Brown but its RGB and its like over 300...so not worth it.

On a side note...If anyone has like 315 bucks to spare... Um.. http://amzn.com/w/3UG2UYFCITXD6

BTW who else is in southern California? ITS SNOWING ;D ALL the roofs are covered, all the mountains....the view from my balcony is so many homes cause we are high up and seeing them all covered is awesome.

Awh that sucks. Um.....WANNA SHIP EM TO ME? 😛 Just kidding. Lol. So my dad paid the shipping thing and the dude is gonna TRY to get it to us my friday but he isnt sure. Hoping for the best...

Don't really have the budget for any upgrades. I can't handle the flickering when its so close to me, but I swapped it with my old Acer 23" which was being used as an HDTV on the far end of my desk. Down at the end of the desk with the LG IPS displaying television the flickering isn't so bad, hardly even noticeable. So I will probably just run this setup until I can get a decent 27" hopefully with more pixels than 1080p.
