Hey guys, I have been pondering upgrading my current system. Which is a phenom ii x6 1100t with a msi 785gt-e86 mother board and 6850 graphics card. I have been thinking about going with a i5 2400 and keeping my 6850. How much of an improvement would I see in gaming? And as far as a mother board goes if someone could suggest one under 100 dollars that would be great.

I don't think you would see too much of an increase in performance if you went with an i5 and kept your 6850. Best bet would be to invest in a beefier GPU. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157280&Tpk=asrock%20extreme%203%20970 My brother currently uses this motherboard and it's given him no troubles at all. I would suggest something like a HD7850 (around 250 bucks, same if not cheaper than the i5+mobo). You would see much better performance with a better GPU :)

Agree with mocchan. The weak point is the 6850. I can not find your motherboard specification so I can not tell if your motherboard support crossfire or not. If it does, just get a 2nd 6850. If it doesn't, then try to sell your 6850 & get a better card. Keep your processor & motherboard.
