My first build. I originally built a system with the storm scout case but upgraded to the Phantom 630. I also added a better PSU and closed-loop liquid cooling. The Storm Scout case unfortunately could not fit the GPU properly and the case was also limited in cooling options. The build was meant to last for awhile and be easy to upgrade in the future. The CPU has rarely reached over 40 C (HW monitor) and I'm not regretting the move to this case. Greatly appreciated the help and information offered on this site.

CPU - Intel Core i5-4670K

Motherboard - Gigabyte Z87 LGA 1150

GPU - GIGABYTE VIDEO CARD GTX770 2GB DDR5

PSU - XFX PRO 850W Black PSU w Full Modular

Cooling - Thermaltake Water 2.0 Extreme CPU Liquid Cooler (Mounted on top)

True. I had trouble with POST. I would install the RAM in A1/B1 or A2/B2 and it would shut down after about 10 seconds and restart. It's running very smooth for now but later I'm going to figure out why it does that.

Surprisingly they both are being recognized.

Install one DIMM in A1 and boot to bios and configure DRAM to specs. Shut down and install 2nd module in B1 and reboot. Probably wise to run memtest. Being in single channel you haven't run into issues but the RAM may be defective.

Or worse, the memory controller on the CPU may be bad or motherboard. That system was designed to run dual-channel, if it does not, then something is wrong. Either config. or harware = best to find out.

Good luck!

**BTW**

I'm looking at getting that same case (red lighting though and AMD based) for my GF. How is it? Is it flimsy or well built?

Hooray! I love microATX builds. Looks great!. Might consider trying to use some cable ties to hide the rest of the cables behind the motherboard tray there. It took me a few tries to get my SLI mATX build to have really clean cable management.

NIce setup. I think you should have that USB cable for Corsair ling run behind the motherboard tray and come out where the 8-Pin CPu connector is. That way it will look cleaner!😀

Whoa, well clearly no rhyme or reason with the cables. But one thing that should be changed immediately is that Dynex PSU. Those are terrible units, get something else ASAP, it doesn't have to break the bank, a 400-500w Antec or Corsair budget model will do just fine. Probably cost you $45 and you wont have to worry about a voltage spike frying half the components in your system.
