Another non-table submission. The difference here between this X347 and the X3450 is the motherboard; I'm pretty confident if I had a P55D I could get this to 4.5GHz+ and beat that 980X.

I'm using an ITX Intel BTJG motherboard so I can only use stock voltage. Also temps are 70c on a 120mm, so pretty good.

Stock voltage, Turbo Boost disabled (3.7 on all cores as opposed to 3.6 single core turbo).

There's an Asus P55D-Pro on eBay for $35 I'm gonna get to really push this thing.

@Robert Ban, you should get one of these, they're so much better than your i3...give your 1050Ti a boost...

Not bad...could you do something? Disable two cores in the BIOS and re-run the test? I wanna see how this stacks up against other quad cores in terms of IPC and STP.

Can you disable two cores in the BIOS and re-run the test? I wanna see what IPC improvements Intel has made over the 4790K, 6700K, and 7700K. Since my 4790K matches 7700Ks I wanna see what's so special about these 40th anniversary CPUs aside from two more cores.

Well, here it is, fastest LGA 77x CPU on the chart. The single threaded outperforms even an i7...Imagine if Intel had added HT to the Core 2 series instead of focusing on clock speed! I mean even some S478 CPUs had HT!!!

I believe HT would have made first gen Core i CPUs redundant. The tech was there, Intel. COME ON

Folks, no buying/selling in the general threads, please. All of these transactions need to happen in private or via the Classifieds section of the forum (and read the rules for that as well, please).

Thank you.

That's cute. Try using ThrottleStop to change multiplier or head on over to bios-mods.com to see if they can enable it.

I take it you're gonna hold onto your 4790K? IIRC you said maybe it was time for a new build.

Is that your previous 4790K? There'd be no reason to update the score then.

i9-7900X running stock. ASRock Fatal1ty Pro X299 i9, GTX970, 64Gb G-Skill Trident Z 3600, 2 X Samsung 512Gb 960 PRO. Main screen BenQ 2560 X 1440.

This is not a gaming rig, but my comparatively low 2D and 3D score are interesting, as that would make some difference to content creation apps. When I built this, GPUs were in short supply, and expensive, so I told myself I'd upgrade when the next lot of NVIDEA GPUs became affordable.

>not for gaming
>buys unlocked i9 instead of a Xeon or i5

Makes sense.

That 970 is underperforming more than my girlfriend when she's tired. :pt1cable:
Even the Quadro P4000 is affordable ($800, peaked around $850 during the mining crisis) and scores 14K on a nice day.

The 970 average is 8.5K and the highest recent was 11K.

That memory mark is also extremely questionable. I have 24GB of DDR3 2133 and with 6 Chrome tabs, Microsoft Word, uTorrent, Task Manager, a few Windows Explorer windows, and 3 Blender windows open all at the same time and I still score over 3000 points.

So I have less memory and slower memory and it's still outperforming yours.

You also need to post a CPU-Z screenshot within the same image as the Passmark capture.

Yes it took me a while, but I eventually used imagur.com.

I'll have a look at my memory settings and try again, and upload a CPU-Z screenshot aswell

You need a direct image link.

Then you put it in tags.

This, minus spaces

Paladin, please use JPG, PNGs are considerably larger and slow down the site. I don't use a DNS cache and my hosts resolve is slow because of how many entries I have in my HOSTS file, I don't need page loading to be any slower. This page already took 0.77s, then the images took an additional 10s.

Good old G3220.

IMHO eBay prices for z97 boards are still stupidly high, but you can find the ASUS B85M-E/CSM for a decent price. It unofficially supports SLI as well, and you can change multiplier in the BIOS with the latest update. I had one with my i3 4130.

Here's a link to the official page on Amazon. (i'm not selling anything, no need to ban me again)

https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-B85M-CSM-DDR3-Motherboard/dp/B00CRJU2X2/

How did my 4130 beat Robert Ban's 4170 at a lower clock? Simple, memory frequency. Passmark is memory bandwidth sensitive, which is why my CL9 2133/2400 DDR3 puts most DDR4 on blast. Gotta love high end old tech.

It has to be a direct link, the URL has to end in a file extension.

Use right click>copy image address, then paste that inbetween image tags.

Don't use Google Photos because they prevent this. Use a site like postimg.org or imgur.com.

You need to have CPU-Z in the same screenshot. I noticed a lot of people don't read the rules before posting.

Not even overclocked? How tho? Cause other 8700Ks need 5+Ghz to get that score. Even Jankerson's 8086K needs a hefty OC to get even 18K.

And what's with that CPU-Z window? Looks weird
