Question Two of my own routers on AT&T Fiber Internet.

I want to use two of my own routers with my AT&T Fiber internet.

Basically, i want to use one of them as the main router to use instead of the one provided by AT&T (Motorola NVG589) but i also have a second router which i was thinking of using to get coverage in another part of the house.

It depends on lots of details. If your internet comes in using the VDSL you router must have a modem in it. The ISP router also has a VoIP phone port. It depends if you buy phone service over this from att.

ATT on some of their systems will not allow you to replace the main router, you will have to read the details.

The second router is pretty easy just run it as a AP and you can connect it to even att router.

According to this article -- https://forums.att.com/t5/AT-T-Inte...n-bridge-mode-or-as-close-as-you/td-p/3552057 that modem can be put into bridge mode. That makes it the equivalent of a modem. Your router can then become the "primary" router. You may have specific WAN configurations you have to do on your router that aren't covered in that article.
