[SOLVED] Unable to boot, and getting a continuous clicking sound ?

Left my computer running a game and when I came back after roughly one hour, it was frozen on the boot screen. Ever since, the motherboard speakers keep on making a clicking/ticking sound.
At some point it stops for a couple of seconds and then the computer restarts to repeat the same.
I'm sure it's not the hard drives because I removed them and it made the noise, but it stopped when I removed the speakers.
If I remove the ram, it beeps normally.
Specs are:
GTX 970, Z97MX - Gaming 5, i7 4790k, Power Supply CS650M, Ram 2x8GB HyperX Fury

could be the motherboard itself

are you sure its not the PSU?

Unfortunately, I've got no means to test if it isn't the PSU or the motherboard, but it helps a lot to add that to the list of possibilities. It's a 5AM on a Sunday and Monday is a holiday. So I guess I'll find out in 3 days... I'll make sure to come report what I find out.

PS.: I'm still open to try any suggestions of tests.

Turns out that in my case, it was a dead processor. Thanks for the help, @Colif
