I have Lenovo "S145-15IIL Laptop (ideapad) - Type 81W8" (as stated when I check warranty page by logging in to Lenovo site). It has 1TB SATA HDD and an empty PCIe slot. I am wondering what kind of SSD will be compatible with it?

Note that as per this [pdf](file:///C:/Users/crrma/OneDrive/Docs/Lenovo/S145/ideapad-s145-15iil-81w8.pdf) page 54, Model Name 15IIL corresponds to Machine Type 81W8.

  1. On first page of this pdf (not on lenovo site), it says "512GB SSD M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe". (notice this page has code "81W800BMGE" at top)
  2. On second page of same above pdf, it says following for "ideapad S145-15IIL Platform" (Nite that this page does not have 81W8 code)
Up to 2 drives (one HDD and one M.2 SSD):
    ● HDD / SATA 6.0Gb/s, 2.5" wide, 7mm high, 5400rpm
    ● M.2 2242 SSD / PCIe NVMe, PCIe 3.0 x 2, 16Gb/s
    ● M.2 2280 SSD / PCIe NVMe, PCIe 3.0 x 4, 32Gb/s
    ● Intel Optane Memory H10 with Solid State Storage, M.2 2280, PCIe NVMe 3.0 x 4
  3. In this hardware manual pdf,on page 13, it says:
2.5-inch form factor, 7-mm (0.28-inch) height hard disk drive
    • M.2 PCIe/SATA solid state drive
    • 2.5-inch SATA solid state drive
    • M.2 Intel® Optane™ memory (only supported on BS145-15IWL, S145-14IKB, S145-14IML, S145-14IWL, S145-15IKB, S145-15IML, S145-15IWL, S145- 14IIL, and S145-15IIL models)
  4. CPU Z says PCIe 3:

    CPU Z validation page.
Q1. I want to confirm that this laptop will support M.2 2280 NVMe SSD, say something like this or this, right?

Q2. Do I need to be worried about PCIe 3.0 x2 vs x4? What is that and how does it matters?
