[SOLVED] Unit turns on and off and I found the culprit was the cpu

Just a few days ago my unit decided to shut down after rewiring some cables and decided not to turn on anymore no matter what I did. I purchased a brand new motherboard the day after as I assumed it was the motherboard that got fried; after assembling everything in their place, I press the power button but now it only turns on for a split second and then turns off (fans and all). I try a new power supply and the same thing happens; after troubleshooting I found out that the unit only does this when the CPU Pwr1 cable is connected which I assume is because the processor chip itself is dead.

I'll be continuing the troubleshooting process although being a complete beginner at this, I'd also appreciate some advice as to how to go about things or if there's no more hope and it's time to just replace the part.

If it helps these are my specs

Palit GTX 1660 Ti
HyperX Fury 8GB 2133mhz ram
Msi Mag365 motherboard
Intel i5-6600

If it's worth noting, my processor is five years old; I recently just upgraded my gpu, motherboard and psu as stated in the post.

Thanks all and keep safe!
