Hello. Today my Ethernet was going off and on..so decided to check device manager. In the device manager, in "Other Devices" section, there was unknown device with yellow exclamation mark. I don't know what to do...when i go to hardware IDs at details ....there is some text like ACPI/VEN_AMD something like that. What to do?

I searched those hardware IDs and a website named Driver Identifier which shows the driver of Asus but I haven't bought anything from Asus brand for my PC and another website called driverpackage which directly showed drivers for windows .......

Well, I got into motherboard manufacturing website. From there I got into system and drivers and I downloaded AMD chipset driver. As I didn't saw any name of it on System information and system driver...What should I do now? Also is it another driver that are needed as my net connection on Ethernet just goes on and off?

One of our moderators @Ralston18 recommended that you try the following:

"
Powershell can be used to find and list device drivers via a Get- cmdlet.

E.g.:

Get-WindowsDriver -Online

Reference:

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/dism/get-windowsdriver?view=windowsserver2025-ps

There are a number of examples presented in the link.

You can copy and paste them into Powershell at the PS> prompt.

And use search parameters to help narrow the results.

Late edit:

Get-PnPDevice may prove helpful as well."

Is this still the system?

AMD Ryzen 7 7700 3.8 GHz-5.3GHz 8 core AM5 socket
MSI B650 Gaming (WiFi 6E) DDR5 AMD AM5 socket motherboard
MSI GeForce RTX 4060 ti VENTUS 2X BLACK 8G OC 8GB GDDR6
32GB DDR5 RAM

Did you download latest Realtek Ethernet drivers? Its under the LAN area,
https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/B650-GAMING-PLUS-WIFI/support#driver
10.73.815.2024 released last month

Unusual board having AMD and Realtek BT drivers.

I didn't download latest Realtek Ethernet drivers
I would, it could help

What was the Hardware ID you got? Might offer clues. Just curious what the Asus thing was...

that AMD driver would be mediatek, supply shortage could make this happen
That seems correct, its just strange then that it lists the Realtek drivers on the page.
https://www.realtek.com/Product/Index?id=3962 is the Ethernet chip, no mention of wifi (it would have been odd if it did)
Data sheet shows AMD: https://storage-asset.msi.com/datasheet/mb/global/B650-GAMING-PLUS-WIFI.pdf

Its no problem, just strange.

edit: I mistakenly said they both BT drivers, they are Wifi.. either way, it shouldn't list Realtek ones. They wouldn't install anyway as no hardware to match drivers.

You can use the Powershell cmdlet

Get-PnPDevice -FriendlyName '*Real*'
to find Realtek devices.

And you can use the same cmdlet to search for "Wifi", "AMD", "Bluetooth", or other words.

Just replace Real between the astericks with the desired/required word.

E.g.

Get-PnPDevice -FriendlyName '*Blue*'

for Bluetooth PnP Devices.

[Copy and Paste. No need to retype.]

The Hardware IDs are:
ACPI\VEN_AMDI&DEV_0052
ACPI\AMDI0052
*AMDI0052
Sorry for the late reply as I am sick right now

I get this after using

Get-PnPDevice -FriendlyName '*Real*'

14 Results

7 OK and 7 (some matching) = Unknown

On my system:

PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> Get-PnPDevice -FriendlyName '*Real*'

The next thing that I suggest is to taking a closer look at those Unknowns that your system is showing.

Starting point being that same cmdlet but with the output formated to show more and to be more readable.

E.g.:

Get-PnPDevice -FriendlyName '*Real*' | Format-List

No need to post the results. Likely to be lengthy.

Simply take a deep look at the results especially those "UNKNOWN" devices. Or anything else that does not seem to fit in.

I see the Asus references. Strange its on an MSI board. I assume you not had an Asus motherboard before and just moved the install.
It seems to be APPM which is power management and is part of the chipset driver package

Do you have the latest bios on the board? as chipset drivers match up with bios.
How to check that ?
