Hello,

I have a custom-built desktop with hardware that is over 10 years old. It has started to become slow and recommends I upgrade my processor and then it also recommends that I upgrade my graphics card. My current processor is an AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight-Core Processor 4.01 GHz, and my current graphics card is an NVIDIA Geforce GTX 760 . I am looking into upgrading the processor to an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 or an i5 or better. The graphics card I am going to upgrade to Geforce GTX 1660 SUPER. The tower I have is a IN WIN GRone. If anyone knows of any better options, it would be greatly appreciated. I will be using it for photography, college, and working from home. I was using it for gaming at the time, but now I do not need the gaming aspects anymore. I am wondering if after I upgrade these two items, would I need to upgrade anything else?

Given the age of that system you need to consider an entire new build.

What is your budget and where are you shopping?
Hello,
Yes, I was thinking I might as well just upgrade the entire system, but if it is cheaper and needed to only upgrade the two parts, that would be about $500. However, if I needed to upgrade the entire computer, I would budget about $1,000 or less preferably. The system was built in 2016 the oldest hardware in it is the 2012 graphics card.

but if it is cheaper and needed to only upgrade the two parts
The sad truth of reality is not so much wanting to upgrade just those two parts the new CPU will not work in your current build " motherboard" . GPU's most of the time it will work but slower due to the CPU/ motherboard generation you have.

Best advice is leave current system as is and use it as a backup and plan a new full system.
