Solution
im goning to go from intel cpu and mb, to amd ryzen cpu and mb
3 possible outcomes:
  1. It works just fine
  2. It fails completely
  3. It works, but you're chasing issues for weeks/months.

I've seen all 3. In this case, #1 is the least likely outcome.
A fresh install is strongly recommended, often/usually required.

For the OS activation, read and do this before you change any parts:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/20530/windows-10-reactivating-after-hardware-change

I just did that recently and it detected the new required drivers for the mobo, but I was going from 6th Gen intel to 12th Intel. All working fine.
However, you may need to transfer your Windows licence to the new hardware. If you sign in using a Microsoft account you should be able to activate it on the new hardware using the Troubleshoot link.
