Use usb cable to install windows from laptop

Hello,

I have a non-computer savvy friend that has a Dell Inspiron netbook that she had to replace the hard drive on. Her problem now is that she doesn't have an OS installed, so she can't operate it.

We have an XP disc to install on her computer... but as it's a netbook, she doesn't have a CD drive, only the USB. Currently neither one of us has a flash drive big enough (8 Gig or bigger) to transfer the burned ISO from my laptop to her computer.

My question is: is it possible that I could somehow hook the netbook up to my laptop, and boot/install the software onto her computer through the use of the USB cable? Steps would be helpful also. Thanks!

a XP disk should not require more then a 1GB bootable flash drive since it comes of a regular cd

You can buy USB CDrom drives mate.

nope 1gb usb is enough to install the windows xp,
