[SOLVED] Used case i5 9400F with Gtx 1660 for 420$

Specs:
rgb case
Core i5-9400F
Gtx 1660 ti
240gb ssd
Psu 650W rgb
Motherboard gigabyte H310M
8 GB ram
I want to buy this used pc for 420$,do you think it is a good deal, especially that the component age is one year only.
BTW we have an inflation problem in our country (Lebanon) so the equivalent of it as a new case will cost me 900$.

In strict raw performance, the $420 system would be the better performer.
However, is it proportionately better (~60%) to justify the difference in price.... probably not

What will you be using the PC for?
The i5-9400f is a 6 core processor and the 4600 is a quad core.
The 9400f offers more cores, better processing ability, and even better single core performance.

So the question becomes, do you need the increased processing ability (and it's better GPU) or not? For office type work you probably won't unless you deal with large spreadsheets or something.

Unfortunately, the faster performing one (9600) also has just a small SSD . . you're going to need more than 240GB of storage in total. The 4460 machine has the SSD, but also a 1TB HDD.

That makes it really difficult to endorse the more expensive (and faster) machine.

I agree with King V and additionally would point out that the higher priced system has half the RAM.

In the strictest sense both of these are already "dead end" so far as socket support. In both cases the only real upgrade path for the CPU is going to be go 'i7' and honestly would cost about the same without finding used for the older chipset/generation. The lower priced system seems well balanced and more ready to go, right now, for a substantially lower price for reasons that I am sure you are aware of....but in spite of that I would probably still choose it and be on the lookout for a bargain i7 47xx to put in it.
The newer system is still going to need double the RAM and a storage solution. Probably add ~$75-100.

Hi, I found a used pc for 630$,I mainly want it for gaming. So I just want to know if it's a good deal, especially that the components are only 1 years old and the user is a student (not heavy user).

3. 8 GB ram (ddr4) is a (I know I must add 8)
4. 500Gb sdd (I have 2 tb hdd external)

7. Case:What I know is that it is ENJOY with 6 fans

BTW I Live in Lebanon, so the prices of the above components brand new is 25% higher cuz of import taxes plus there is an 11% VAT so the cost of the same components brand new is near 1000$

I don't know what PSU or case the used one comes with but this has a good PSU and case. Budget motherboard and RAM.

Not the best PSU by any means and would be something to replace right away. Do you have any vendors that you like to use in Lebanon?

Yes pc and parts, but I don't think you can access it outside Lebanon. Why it is bad, I'm really on a tight budget. I have on my current rig thermaltake smart 630 watt se series on a gtx 960, i5 4440 and it is 5 years old now.. 0 problems, although when I asked about it here 5 years ago all told me its crap and might harm the pc cuz we dont have stable ampere/ electricity in our country.

There are times that getting a cheap PSU can work out and you don't have issues. But your odds of having an issue go up a lot with them. When you got that Thermaltake 5 years ago, it was designed in 2012 and there is no guarantee that it will have support for Haswell or newer CPU C states. You got lucky and it didn't have any issues, but at this point you with it being used for 5 years you are playing Russian Roulette with your computer.

For the Redragon PSU there is no information about it anywhere. I can see somethings from their website, but there aren't any professional reviews of it. Sure it might be from a well known OEM, but without that knowledge I cannot in good conscience recommend it. I did find something from pcandparts that seems alright.

I wouldn't go with that PSU either. While the quality might be higher, it is based on an old platform. When you look at the wattage sticker you see it is only rated for 612W on the +12V line, but it is supposed to be a 750W PSU. Seeing such a huge difference between the +12V line and rated wattage is a tell tale sign of being a platform a good 10 years old. A modern platform will have a 750W rating and have 99% of that available on the +12V line.
Look in the specifications here for the Power Output area to get an idea https://seasonic.com/focus-gx#gallery I used Seasonic as they are a know top tier PSU manufacturer. The Seasonic S12II came out in 2010 and still does 93% on the +12V line https://seasonic.com/s12ii#specification whereas the Woden only does 81%.

Since I cannot speak to pricing where you are it would be hard to say.

I built an i5 8400 system some months back with 32GB of RAM for just over $400 and well under 5. It had no GPU. With that said given the inclusion of a strong card in that offering I would go for it.

RAM: HyperX Fury 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2666 RAM for 36$
PSU: Cougar GX-S650-V3 Gold 650W PSU for 79$ (it was recommended by a member in the previous post featuring another used pc)
so total 115$
Although I don't have money for the psu, I may upgrade after 6 months
Also by the way can u check my previous post and tell me which is a better deal in you opinion.
